PSA Peugeot-Citroën Expected To Build Next Generation Opel/Vauxhall Zafira

With reports about GM construct the next generation Citroën C5, it will be PSA Peugeot-Citroën that will lead the development of the next-generation Opel/Vauxhall Zafira MPV.

PSA has seen some success with its own MPV, the Citroën C4 Picasso, so development seems to be in good hands. However, the news dooms GM’s Bochum plant, which will see the Zafira move to PSA’s Rennes plant in France in 2015.

  4. I think this move will be before 2015, as the engineering has been shipped to psa already.

  5. I predicted this, and what do you know, it’s happening. The PSA Peugeot Citroën deal had to happen to address the dire concerns over at Opel. Naturally, some production would have to be moved over to PSA to lower costs. It didn’t seem like much of a coincidence that GM was considering shuttering or downsizing its Opel/Vauxhall plants while negotiating a deal with PSA.
