General Motors announced today that it will co-develop an all-new electric vehicle with SAIC — its Chinese joint-venture partner — for the Chinese market. GM will be able to utilize the future vehicle’s architecture to launch other similar models in other markets.
Details are vague, but we can have a look at the Chevrolet Sail EV Concept from last year’s Guangzhou Auto Show and ponder.

Someone on another site was all ticked off about this and all upset about loss of technology and the whole Gov motors thing, people don’t seem to understand the vastness of the Chinese market and what GM would have at stake if they didn’t forge deeper relations with Chinese manufacturers.
