If you’re a regular reader of this website, then you likely have more than a little bit of auto-related memorabilia lying around. Maybe you’ve got a poster on a wall, or a model car on a shelf. Maybe you’ve got a lot more than that. Either way, this high-end condo in New Zealand takes things a step further. As it turns out, the owner managed to fit an entire 1959 Chevy Impala inside of it, then modified the Chevy into a bed. Now, the condo is listed for sale, Chevy Impala included.
The condo is located in Auckland, New Zealand, and is fully decked out as a high-tech bachelor pad. Offering a stunning view of New Zealand’s largest city, this condo spans more than 325 square meters (3,498 square feet) and includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms in the layout. Positioned centrally in one of the rooms is a modified Chevy Impala, which, according to the listing, doubles as a bed.
“The installation of the car bed – which cheekily has the word ‘divorce’ on the license plate and includes a fridge – was one for the movies,” writes One Roof. “It had to be airlifted to the penthouse by helicopter, one the owner had to hire from Australia because no Kiwi chopper was strong enough to do the job. The surrounding streets and roads had to be closed off while the car was in the air.”
Apparently, the install was quite dicey, with the helicopter “jumping up and down” as it dropped off the car. Now, however, the Chevy Impala is sitting pretty as a central part of the condo.
Further touches include a massive batman logo accompanied by the text “Gotham City,” while a series of television screens and other hidden electronics are stuffed into the walls. There’s also more than 1,000 square meters (10,764 square feet) of marble and onyx imported from Turkey, underlining the superhero alter-ego vibes.
Now, anyone looking for a new pad in New Zealand can purchase this condo, including the Chevy Impala. However, as you might expect, pricing is a bit steep, with the listing set at NZ$10 million (US$6,049,450 at current exchange rates, 8/16/2024).

A bachelor pad with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms???? Sounds more like an AirBnB venture to me.
