Ford unveiled the refreshed 2025 Maverick yesterday, showing off updated exterior styling, new interior appointments, and an updated powertrain lineup. GM currently does not offer a rival to the Ford Maverick in the North American market. Notably, Ford has also revealed this – the new 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo Sport Truck.
Inspired by the lowered street trucks built by enthusiasts between the ’80s and early 2000s, the Ford Maverick Lobo is offered as the street-performance iteration of the Maverick compact pickup lineup. The original idea for the Maverick Lobo’s creation came from Ford designer Josh Blundo, who envisioned a concept with a widebody treatment, upgraded wheels, and a front splitter. This concept led to a special build by Tucci Hot Rods that debuted in 2021 at the SEMA Show, ultimately leading to the Lobo production vehicle.
The Ford Maverick Lobo’s design includes a unique front fascia, painted rear bumper, new rocker moldings, a black-painted roof, and 19-inch black wheels. The interior draws inspiration from street art and streetwear trends, featuring Grabber Blue and Electric Lime accent stitching, graffiti-inspired seat overprint, and the Lobo name embossed on the seats.
In addition to its street truck styling, engineers enhanced other components of the Ford Maverick Lobo to provide the pickup with improved on-road performance. Standout features include a lowered ride height, on-road tuned suspension and shocks, performance-tuned steering, and torque vectoring, all of which combine to offer a car-like driving experience. The Lobo also has a special drive mode designed for closed courses that enhances cornering performance and stability. Under the hood, Ford’s turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost engine is rated at 238 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
The Maverick Lobo is available in two configurations: standard and high. The standard configuration includes all of the performance and styling features mentioned, while the high configuration adds comfort features like a heated steering wheel and seats, Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 driver-assist, a 360-degree camera, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.
Orders for the 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo are open now, with deliveries beginning early next year. High configurations will have late availability. Pricing starts at $36,595 for the standard spec, while the high spec starts at $42,090.

Massive missed opportunity for a bigger engine. Bummer.
Well I mean it already runs mid-6 second 0-60 times.
I quit Fords about 25 years ago when their trucks became too difficult to work on. But I sure do wish GM would build a competitor for the Maverick and Bronco/Wrangler. I’m very close to a Bronco, they are still a bit too pricey, waiting for more of the fanboy newness to wear off.
GM used to build some cool vehicles before the yuppies took over now it’s just boring.
