Cadillac Racing enthusiasts are in for a treat following the release of a new trailer for the upcoming documentary “No Perfect Formula.” The new feature-length film documents Cadillac Racing’s journey to the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, highlighting the many successes and failures experienced along the way. “No Perfect Formula” will debut later this month.
As readers will no doubt recognize, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a legendary race, providing the backdrop for high-speed battles between major car manufacturers, high-profile motorsport personalities, and national pride. The new documentary tells the tale of automotive endurance and strategy, while also providing a look into the hearts and minds of the team members who push the boundaries of performance and innovation at Cadillac Racing.
Produced by Tangent Vector and directed by J.F. Musial, the film explores the intricate dynamics of teamwork and the relentless pursuit of excellence in one of the world’s most prestigious racing events. Viewers will get an inside look at the highs and lows of the racing season, complemented by insights from team members, engineers, and prominent automotive journalists.
The documentary also showcases Cadillac’s deep dive into hybrid propulsion technology through its V-Series.R racecar, which combines a naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 with electrified components. This endeavor is part of a broader strategy as Cadillac transitions to an electric future, gathering valuable insights from hybrid technologies that merge high performance with sustainability.
“For more than a century, racing has provided a testbed for Cadillac to transfer knowledge and technology between race cars and production vehicles, and a way to build a fanbase for the brand around the world,” said Cadillac global vice president, John Roth. “2023 was a pivotal year for Cadillac Racing, and ‘No Perfect Formula’ captures the emotion and celebrates what was a successful season for the team.”
“No Perfect Formula” is scheduled for release on May 31st, 2024, premiering at 7 p.m. EST on Hagerty channel #1194, accessible via the Samsung TV Plus app on compatible devices, including Samsung Smart TVs and Galaxy Devices. Additional broadcasts are scheduled all night following the premiere and every Friday at 7 p.m. EST in the lead-up to the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. For global viewers, the documentary will also be streamed on Hagerty’s Facebook page.
