GMC Yukon Sales Increase 3 Percent To 20,023 Units In Q2 2019

GMC Yukon sales increased in the United States and decreased in Canada and Mexico during the second quarter of 2019.

In the United States, GMC Yukon deliveries totaled 20,023 units in Q2 2019, an increase of about 3 percent compared to 19,520 units sold in Q2 2018.

In the first six months of the year, Yukon sales increased about 1 percent to 34,970 units.

GMC Yukon Sales – Q2 2019 – Canada

Cumulative deliveries of the GMC Yukon family in Canada decreased 1 percent to 1,510 units in Q2 2019, comprised of:

  • 689 units of the regular-length Yukon, a decrease of 20 percent compared to 858 units sold in Q2 2018, and
  • 821 units of the extended-length Yukon XL, an increase of 23 percent compared to 670 units sold in Q2 2018

In the first six months of 2019, cumulative Yukon sales totaled 2,628 units in Canada, a decrease of about 7 percent compared to 2,838 Yukons delivered during the first six months of 2018.

In Mexico, GMC Yukon deliveries totaled 101 units in Q2 2019, a decrease of about 40 percent compared to 169 units sold in Q2 2018.

In the first six months of the year, Yukon sales decreased about 36 percent to 201 units.

GMC Yukon sales performance during the second quarter places the nameplate into third place in its competitive set in the United States, behind its corporate cousin – the Chevrolet Tahoe – in first place, and the Ford Expedition in second (see Ford Expedition sales). The Yukon finished ahead of the Chevrolet Suburban, Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia in terms of overall sales volume for Q2 2019.

From a segment share standpoint, the Yukon saw a 19 percent share during Q2 2019, just behind 21 percent share of the Ford Expedition.

The full-size mainstream SUV segment expanded over 18 percent to 104,093 units in the second quarter of 2019.
