Callaway Announces Plans To Supercharge 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500

Callaway isn’t going to let Lingenfelter have all the fun when it comes to tuning GM’s new line of pickup trucks, as the performance company is planning to offer performance packages that would essentially bring to market the Silverado SS sport truck some have demanded.

Thanks to a supercharger kit, the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 L83 offered in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks will see a power upgrade that brings total power to an estimated 450 horses — up by 95 horsepower. Meanwhile, high rollers opting for the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 L86 engine are expected to see a total of 540 horsepower from the supercharger upgrade, a 120 horsepower increase.

Whatever’s chosen, the supercharger upgrade will comply with emissions laws in all 50 states. Tire and wheel upgrades will also be a part of the package.

  2. How about the 4.3. It looks like it should do well with a supercharger also, and it starts at a lower price point.

  4. would that void a factory warranty?

    1. Callaway vehicles are sold and serviced through Chevy dealerships, same way SLP Escalades are sold through Cadillac dealerships. I believe that in both cases the factory warranty is retained, and a supplemental warranty to cover the aftermarket parts is included in the price.
