Spied: Buick Enclave Gets A Redesign For The 2013 Model Year

Middle-to-upper class moms around America, rejoice! For the Buick is bringing you a redesigned Enclave for the 2014 2013 model year. The proof is in the spy photos that can be seen on Inside Line, and what they reveal is a sleeker front fascia that can be seen through the camo. Chances are the back will be graced with the same touch, though it’s much harder to tell. It’s also apparent that the Enclave won’t be shrinking in the least bit, contrary to rumors of its platform mate, the GMC Acadia, downsizing to the mid-sized segment. And do we see some sharper, almost Cadillac-esque creases? Hmm…

  1. Could be a redesign, not just a refresh, I mean its been 7 years…

  2. It’s about time the enclave looks decent but it looks DATED why did this refresh or whatever it is take so long 2014 year????

  3. Looks like it might be getting adaptive aero. That lower crill inlet looks exactly like the one found on the Cruze Eco. From what I can see it looks like it’s going to look more familiar to the rest of the Buick line. I liked the enclave a lot but I agree it looks dated and NEEDS an update. Can’t wait to see more.

  4. Sorry, the Enclave has one of the strongest design languages of any GM and is hardly dated. In fact people like the design that is why it has continued to be a strong seller. Product recognition is good, especially when done well.

    1. Yabadabadoo,

The design is very good but it is still old. The only reason it is still selling well is becuase Buick still does not have much exposure to the market, as more people see it on the road, the older it will look. I mean the Enclave kind of looks like the lucerne from the front and that cant be a good thing. However, for some reason everyone seems to equate old with bad. I think there needs to be some change in the front fiasca, and just the a major technological update, like Intellilink and some of the advanced features the almost same age X5 has.

  6. 12 way seats on both sides would make it a WINNER

    1. I would agree with Doug — I can’t believe that the power seat on the passenger side lacks a height adjustment. That isn’t acceptable on a vehicle in the $40K range (with decent equipment). And I sell them!

  8. Wow, I have caught some flack here before but good grief. The Enclave is the purist Buick on the road from a design perspective. While I agree its time for an update, I personally think the existing design represents Buick better than almost any other car reps its brand within GM.

    1. Yabadabadoo,

Lol, Again I would have to disagree with you on your point, I think the CTS represents Cadillac more than how much the Enclave represents Buick

I like your comments throughtout GMA because they help me rethink my assumpations and occasionally(like never lol) prove me wrong. I hope our comments serve similar purposes for you.

Nothing Personal, I just like a good argument and I think its great that your comments are almost always able to start a conversation about something.

  11. Well the enclave was in the same lineup with the previous gen lacrosse and current lucerne at the time im estimating about 6-7 years ago i can understand where you feel like the enclave represents buick but if you rewind a couple of years compared to the previous gen lacrosse and lucerne the enclave was a new model in the buick lineup with no other car matching its design language which you say “represents” buick fast forward to present time the new lacrosse expresses what buick is going after a more sculpted more attractive looking vehicle that says i am a premium car quietly and isn’t offensive to thee eyes , the point i am basically trying to make is that the enclave is grandpa right now its design is getting a little bland it needs to get a bit sleek and updated grill ……….i have to agree with that comment from a design stand point the cts is what truly expresses cadillac to how the enclave represents buick

  12. As a retired GM worker, That was one of the problem GM had in the 1980’s and 90’s,
It takes to long to redesign a model, like the Buick enclave, The new model should have been out already or by next year. Your to slow on refreshing styles. 2014 is way to long.

  13. My point exactly

  14. I hope they put it out by next year. Because it just looks like a refresh

  15. Judging by the rear door window design and proportions the green house has most likely not changed at all leading me to believe this is little more than a refresh. It may, however, be a substantial refresh.

  16. Mike all your points are well noted, my thought exactly on the Enclave was in a world all its own when introd, my point is it set the bar higher and to me has a nice (maybe not timeless) design in its present form. When I think of vehicles GM should be updating the Enclave would be least on my list, although it is due. This has allways been an issue at GM; to much product not enough updating.

    1. Agreed GM is always playing catch up even with their own vehicles

  17. All things considered, the Enclave has aged surprisingly well.

  19. Manoli- That is really my point, and most people don’t know the difference. When did sales spike, that would be the real question. If my neighbor bought this vehicle in the last 2 or 3 years I am seeing it possibly everyday I am thinking wow I would buy that. A strong update would definately continue its success, but the vehicle speaks 4 itself now. Interior updates are needed though.
