A few months ago, GM Authority reported that the 2025 Buick Envision was set to commence production on August 5th, 2024. That being said, it now appears as though General Motors has pushed back the 2025 Envision‘s production start date by a few weeks.
GM Authority has learned that the start of regular production (SORP) of the upcoming 2025 Buick Envision actually commenced on August 21st, 2024 at the GM-SAIC Jinqiao Plant in China.
As a reminder, the current 2024 Envision is highlighted by a mid-cycle refresh that features revisions to the exterior styling, a revised cabin, and a suite of standard safety features. Interestingly, the 2024 model year is gearing up to be extremely short, as 2024 Envision kicked off production just a few months ago. As such, the 2025 Envision will boast minor updates over the preceding model.
Regarding the mid-cycle refresh itself, the exterior design language draws inspiration from the Buick Wildcat EV concept, which has been seen across the Tri-Shield brand’s model lineup. This includes a reworked front fascia with a new grille and dual-tier headlamps, along with a revised rear fascia that features a new bumper and revised taillamps.
Moving to the interior, the cabin is highlighted by an all-new 30-inch diagonal panel that incorporates the gauge cluster and the infotainment system touchscreen, offering customizability for navigation, vehicle information, audio, and more. Some standard safety technologies include Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicycle Braking, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking.
It’s worth noting that GM Super Cruise is not on offer.
Under the hood, the Envision is powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while output is directed to the standard AWD drivetrain via the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
In regard to structure, the Tri-Shield brand crossover is underpinned by the GM E2 platform, while pricing for the 2024 model year starts at $37,295.
