2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country Spied Testing Again

The 2024 Chevy Tahoe will introduce a full model refresh for the full-size SUV nameplate, and now, GM Authority spy photographers have once again spotted the 2024 Chevy Tahoe testing as a camouflaged prototype.

This particular 2024 Chevy Tahoe is the range-topping High Country trim level, and is covered in heavy black vinyl camo to obscure the styling updates to be introduced with the upcoming refresh. Nevertheless, there are still several notable features to pick out here.

Let’s start in front, where we see this 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country prototype is equipped with a new two-tiered lighting setup. As GM Authority exclusively covered last year, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban will both introduce restyled front fascia treatments highlighted by new lighting that incorporates driving lights / turn signals mounted high on the fascia, and the primary forward illumination provided by headlights mounted lower in the front fascia. The setup will be similar to current Chevy models like the Blazer, Trailblazer, Silverado HD, and Silverado EV, among others.

The profile view reveals that this 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country is riding on 22-inch Sterling Silver premium painted wheels with chrome inserts (RPO code RPT), the same wheels equipped by the current Chevy Tahoe High Country. To note, previous spy photos have shown some 2024 Chevy Tahoe prototypes wearing 24-inch wheels, and in fact, 24-inch wheel options will be offered across GM’s refreshed full-size SUV lineup.

This prototype is also equipped with the optional power retractable assist steps (RPO code B3L), while up top, we spot a new roof antenna. The body panels on this prototype are covered in Iridescent Pearl Tricoat paint (paint code G1W).

Moving around to rear, we see this 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country prototype equipped with a new through-fascia exhaust treatment, as compared to the four integrated exposed exhaust tips offered by the current model. This confirms a previous GM Authority exclusive that breaks down the new exhaust styling and how it differs from the current exhaust setup, so check out that article for more information.

Further updates will include changes to the rest of the rear fascia, as well as the cabin space, the latter of which will gain a new infotainment screen setup. Look for the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe to hit production this coming November.

  • 24" wheels!! Are they trying to increase both unsprung and curb weight, increase ride harshness and decrease mileage estimates? All this is just yet another money grab for the bigger is always better crowd.

  • I think it’s safe to assume that the refreshed Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe will also incorporate new taillights as well, like the refreshed GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade. I feel like this prototype still doesn’t reflect on the refresh still in development, and the rear LED lighting on the end post-face lifted product will be different from the pre-refresh model.

  • I’m convinced they only put these hideous wheels on the high country vehicles because they know half of the buyers will have to opt for one of the $3,000+ optional wheels. They’re almost as bad as directional wheels. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the refresh and agree that LED lights should be standard on at least the top two trim levels. Hoping more interior options are available to the Z71 and RST trims.

    • We all know that the V6 Twin Turbo is not happening at this point, the report also stated that the new V6 would have delivered an output of up to 500 HP, pretty interesting as to what the V8's will bring.

  • Why does Chevy insist on using this new two-tiered lightning on virtually everything? The Blazer is the only vehicle they have that I don't feel it's horrifying to look at...

  • Nice machine but it has grown to near Suburban size! How about a shorter model for those who want the size and power of a full sized pickup but don’t need a school bus. Traverse is not the answer, it isn’t a truck.

    • Love the old style boxy look with updated front and rear looks. Really like the inside dimensions for carrying "things". Since it's now only the two of us I'd really like to see the Tahoe offer up a V6. I may get some thumbs down but what the heck, one feels the way he feels.
