Back in May 2022, GM Authority reported that the mid-cycle refresh of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe would feature a new driver instrument cluster and infotainment screen, not unlike the setup found in the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST. Now, GM Authority photographers have captured new images that give us a much clearer picture as to what this new Tahoe screen setup may look like.
This particular unit boasts a wide panel that houses both the driver instrument cluster and the infotainment screen in a curved two-tier setup. There’s also a very noticeable volume knob mounted up high between the two screens.
In addition, we can also make out a chrome button on the tip of the right-side steering column stalk, indicating that the transmission shift lever has been moved to this new position. This replaces the shift buttons previously located on the center stack, freeing up space for a bigger infotainment screen.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe is set to receive a suite of updates over the preceding model year, including revised front and rear fascias, a redesigned dashboard and an engine change. Starting with the exterior, the front end will feature a new two-tiered lighting setup that incorporates a set of driving lights/turn signals mounted high on the fascia, while the primary headlights will be mounted lower in the fascia.
Interior upgrades are largely related to the aforementioned driver instrument cluster and infotainment screen setup, which will result in a more modern-looking interior appointment.
Under the hood, the 2024 Tahoe will feature similar powertrain options as the outgoing model, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet, and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. New for 2024 is the updated 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 305 horses and 495 pound-feet of torque. All engine choices are mated to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
As for structure, the Tahoe rides on the GM T1 platform, which underpins all of GM’s full-size SUVs. Production is expected to kick off in November 2023 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

Shift paddles behind the wheel would be nice too, especially with the Diesel engine.
The refreshed pickups have them, don’t see why the Tahoe/Yukon shouldn’t as well.
It certainly would be logical that the manual shift capability +/- needs to be close to the shift selector. So Paddles are logical and a great location. Hopefully they will also move the trailer break controller to the right side of the steering column as well.
Which Is It?….One Change…No Change….Or…

Thank Christ the transmission shifter is going back to where it belongs ! Using toggle buttons was most annoying and seemed to be an afterthought during the original design stage .
Took a test drive of the Buick Envision and noted that they require the phone to hook up with the system for traveling and navigation. The fault with that idea is when the phone does not have service you are lost and have to wait until service is reconnected. Will have to rethink whether I want to buy this model.
Yes ! This is unacceptable !
What a shock…as in, “DUH.”
I just hope they either offer the new 3.0 LZ0 Duramax in the Z71 trim or continue to offer it in the RST trim but add Magnetic ride control and air suspension in this trim with the diesel option. Right now the magnetic ride is only an option in the RST with 6.2L.
Good. Glad to see this much needed upgrade.
And it looks like it has the Gear Selector from the upcoming Silverado EV which I said it should have had from the get go!!!
The 2024 Tahoe seems a hot mess. The idea of the large instrument cluster and infotainment screen is a hot mess. No solid rear axel…….No deal.
How about adding the RST Performance Edition as an option with the Duramax Diesel engine? I’m in with that build.
