The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV gets a new illuminated charge port as a standalone option. The 2023 Bolt EV also introduces a new exterior paint lineup, with Radiant Red Tintcoat joining the list as a replacement for the outgoing Cherry Red Metallic paint color. Like the Chevy Bolt EUV, the Bolt EV rides on the GM BEV2 platform and utilizes the same single-drive electric motor, producing 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, fed by the 65 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides 250 miles of range per charge.
In November, the Chevy Bolt EV received the 2023 U.S. ALG Residual Value Award along with two more models from GM, namely the 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup. In addition, Domino’s announced it was adding 800 Chevy Bolt EV delivery vehicles to its fleet.
In December, we reported that the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV is a steal with the full EV tax credit, when it’s implemented. That may be in spite of a $900 price increase in January on the 2023 Bolt EV.
GM is planning to build 70,000 new Chevy Bolts this year. The automaker will boost Bolt production for global markets to 70,000 units in 2023 from roughly 44,000 units for 2022. Also, EV fans can now drive one of five of Chevy electric vehicles in the marque’s new “Charged Up” mobile game, including the Bolt EV.
Production for the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV began at the GM Lake Orion plant in Michigan on July 26th, 2022. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Bolt EV.
Production of the 2023 Bolt EV and 2023 Bolt EUV will cease on November 7th, 2023, meaning that 2023 model-year manufacturing will last a total of 16 months.

It makes no sense to pay $16,000 to lease a Bolt for 36 months when the car only costs $20,000 after the tax credit.
