The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 introduces the sixth model year for the current fourth-generation light-duty pickup, bringing with it several important updates and changes over the preceding 2023 model year. Notably, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is no longer available to order in Glacier Blue Metallic paint.
Glacier Blue Metallic paint will be built out for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 after the week of February 26th. It’s unclear at this time if the color will return for the 2025 model year.
Glacier Blue Metallic paint is tagged with paint code GLT, and was introduced to the Chevy Silverado 1500 paint lineup in conjunction with the 2022 model-year refresh.
With Glacier Blue Metallic paint no longer available, the light-duty pickup offers 10 other exterior paint colors, including (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):
Two of these colors are available for an extra charge, with Radiant Red Tintcoat offered for an extra $495, and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat offered for an extra $995. To note, Glacier Blue Metallic was previously offered for an extra $395. It’s also worth mentioning that Lakeshore Blue Metallic is no longer available on RST trim levels as of November 2023 production.
As for updates introduced for the 2024 model year, the Chevy Silverado 1500 now offers the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine in conjunction with the off-road-focused Silverado ZR2. The LZ0 engine is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. The turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine has also adopted the TurboMax branding.
In addition to the LZ0 diesel and L3B gasoline engines already mentioned, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 also offers the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine. The GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

Can't make more paint? They never build out black and white. Terrible business model. It's only February of 2024 and color is done? What about orders?
That's a very sharp color.
Makes no sense.
I will hate to see Glacier Blue go, one of their best colors ever!
If they do replace it, I hope they another bright metallic blue
When are you're going to do an updated on the Electric W/T truck we put down $100.00 deposit on year ago. And I hear the one that are out are starting at $78.000. When they were going to cost $39,000? What the story?
What the F? Good thing I got my 2024 LTZ on Glacier Blue metallic . Best color.ever on a Silverado. I wish it had all gray interior like my 1997. This is a terrible decision !!!
My wife got a Colorado in that color . I got a 24 Silverado in the Lakeshore blue metallic and it looks outstanding also .
I’ve got mine and absolutely love it - the truck (2022 Z71 Trailboss) and the color. Even when it’s dirty it still looks really sharp. Get one of these while you can!
I got mine in this great color. 2024 LT, glad I ordered when I did.
Just about every ad in print, on the web, or on a TV commercial had the Silverado in this Glacier Blue Metallic paint. And what do they do? They get rid of it. Mary Mary Mary, not the sharpest tool in the shed.
