Refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade Could Get New Infotainment Screen

The 2024 Cadillac Escalade, the luxury marque’s venerable full-size luxury SUV, is slated to receive a mid-cycle refresh that will introduce revisions to the front and rear fascias, the powertrain and the interior. Recently, GM Authority photographers captured an extended-length 2024 Escalade ESV undergoing testing, and upon closer inspection, this particular unit appeared to feature revisions to its driver instrument panel and infotainment screen setup.

In the photograph, there seems to be a new “ledge” on the center stack control center, while the entire screen panel has been pushed further back towards the windshield.

Additionally, we can spot a chrome button on the tip of the right-hand-side stalk, indicating that the transmission shift lever has been moved to this new location, thus freeing up center console space. There’s also a driver-facing camera on the steering column, meaning this prototype is technically equipped with GM’s semi-autonomous driving feature, Super Cruise.

That being said, it’s worth noting that the 2021 Escalade was the first vehicle in the world to receive a 38-inch OLED screen, so it may be a little odd if the 2024 model receives a different setup. In addition, it’s possible that this prototype is simply not equipped with any displays at all, thus giving the appearance of a center stack ledge.

For those who may be unaware, two of the three powertrains are expected to move forward from the 2023 model to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade with no changes. This includes the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4, rated at 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque and used in the Escalade-V.

Meanwhile, the optional 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax – rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque – is expected to be replaced by the updated 3.0L I6 LZ0 Duramax engine, rated at 305 horses and 495 pound-feet of torque. All engine options are mated to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

As for structure, the Escalade relies on the GM T1 platform that underpins all GM full-size SUVs. Production of the 2024 Escalade is expected to commence in November 2023 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  • my assumption is that it will have a screen that spans the majority, if not the entire dashboard, just set back a little bit. it really wouldn't make sense to downgrade the size of the screen

  • not sure I agree that's a column shift lever, looks kind of small - maybe some other control, like wipers?

    • Pics especially in spy shots looks deceiving but that is a transmission column shifter because I was comparing this pic to the LYRIQ's transmission column shifter.

I find it interesting that Cadillac is getting rid of the console shifter after three years on the prefresh life cycle.

  • Makes me wonder if the switchgear will be in brushed aluminum or piano black.

Also, the current model for 2023 started on July 18th, 2022 so how long is there a production break between prefresh and refresh models? Looks like the '23 model year will have a longer life cycle since the '24 models will start on November '23.
