Production of the all-new fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade kicked off in October of last year, but now, new 2021 Escalade models are starting to roll off the line with the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system equipped, GM Authority has learned.
Although production of the 2021 Escalade officially began last year, the luxury SUV was not immediately available with the Super Cruise feature, as GM Authority first reported back in May. The exact production start for 2021 Escalade models equipped with Super Cruise is not clear at this time, but we do know that the first units with Super Cruise have already started rolling off the line at the GM Arlington Assembly facility in Texas.
GM’s Super Cruise feature is a semi-autonomous (Level 2) driving system that allows the human pilot to remove their hands from the steering wheel during extended periods of highway driving. Super Cruise first launched with the 2018 Cadillac CT6 sedan, and is also offered with the 2021 Cadillac CT5 and Cadillac CT4. In June of 2019, GM announced that it was adding an additional 70,000 miles of compatible divided highways in the U.S. and Canada, bringing the available highways in which users can engage Super Cruise up to 200,000 miles total.
As for Super Cruise availability with regard to the 2021 Escalade, the feature is offered on all trim levels with the exception of the base-level Luxury model.
As a reminder, the 2021 Escalade rides on the new GM T1 platform, and features an independent rear suspension with available Magnetic Ride Control and Adaptive Air Ride. Motivation is sourced from the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine as standard, while buyers can opt into the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax as a no-cost option. Both engines connect to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Inside the cabin, the 2021 Escalade features a standard 38-inch curved OLED infotainment screen, as well as an audio system by AKG.

Got my fingers crossed, hoping and wishing all the success in this new adventure.
Sorry their inability to tell me when my Escalade on order would be delivered resulted in BMW, getting the sale! They were hoping sometime during March!! That was for the Super Cruise delay! See recently where the wheels I wanted are not currently available! Sounds like I would have had to accept less equipment than I wanted to get a 21 model. Pretty poor rollout!
Right! its almost as if there's a global pandemic causing production issues or something.
A large percentage of of what you state happens to be supprisingly precise and it makes me wonder why I hadn't looked at this with this light previously. Your piece really did switch the light on for me as far as this particular issue goes. But there is just one point I am not necessarily too comfy with and while I make an effort to reconcile that with the core theme of the position, permit me see what all the rest of the readers have to say.Nicely done.
I ordered my Premium Luxury edition in September of 2020. After production delays for the diesel and Super Cruise, it was delivered to the dealership on April 3rd, without Super Cruise, Adaptive cruise control or the folding steps, among other things. I ordered another on the 6th of April, with the hopes of at least getting the vehicle into production, prior to my dealership leaving Cadillac.
