The 2025 Cadillac XT6 for the North American market arrives with only a handful of updates and changes compared to the outgoing 2024 model year of Caddy’s largest crossover model, carrying the vehicle forward for an additional year despite previous uncertainty that it would be offered beyond 2024.
Now, GM Authority has learned that optional availability of the Onyx Package (RPO code PDB) will be added to the base Luxury trim level of the 2025 Cadillac XT6, while it will be dropped from the mid-level Sport trim.
The Onyx Package is an optional appearance package for the Cadillac XT6 which is offered as an LPO or dealer-installed choice on the luxury crossover. For the 2024 Cadillac XT6 the package was offered on the Sport and Premium Luxury trims, but not on the Luxury trim level. For 2025, the Luxury gains access to the package while it continues to be an option for the Premium Luxury trim as well.
Pricing for the Onyx Package is $5,295 for the Premium Luxury trim level. However, it is unclear at this point what it will cost when chosen for the Luxury trim. The Onyx Package cannot be ordered in conjunction with any of the XT6 accent packages, including the Blue Accent Package (RPO code PDL), the Bronze Accent Package (RPO code PDJ), and the Red Accent Package (RPO code PDK).
The 2025 Cadillac XT6 Onyx Package includes the content listed below (RPO codes and LPO status listed in parenthesis):
As a reminder, the Platinum Package (RPO code JSE) is also available for the 2025 model year and now includes the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system in addition to an assortment of interior styling upgrades.
For motivation, the XT6 will continue to cradle the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine providing 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired as standard with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission with standard FWD and optional AWD.
The GM C1 platform provides the underpinnings for the Cadillac XT6, while start of regular production (SORP) is scheduled for July 8th, 2024 and will take place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
