2022 Chevy Traverse Adds Safety Alert Seat

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse arrives with a long list of changes and updates over the preceding 2021 model year, including the addition of GM’s Safety Alert Seat feature.

For those readers who may be unaware, the GM Safety Alert Feature vibrates the bottom of the driver’s seat cushion if a crash risk is detected. Designed as an alternative to auditory alert systems, the feature works in conjunction with other collision-avoidance warning technologies to provide the driver with a warning of possible danger.

Now, with the debut of the 2022 Chevy Traverse, this feature will be equipped as standard on 2022 Chevy Traverse Premier and 2022 Chevy Traverse High Country trim levels. The feature is not available with any other 2022 Chevy Traverse trim level.

In addition to the GM Safety Alert Seat feature, the 2022 Chevy Traverse will also feature further safety technology features via the Chevy Safety Assist package, which is equipped as standard and includes:

• Automatic Emergency Braking
• Front Pedestrian Braking
• Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
• Following Distance Indicator
• Forward Collision Alert
• IntelliBeam

The 2022 Chevy Traverse RS, Premier, and High Country will also include Adaptive Cruise Control and Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, the latter of which replaces Automatic Emergency Braking.

What’s more, the 2022 Chevy Traverse will offer limited wireless device charging. Originally, this feature was expected to be standard across all trim levels except the LS, but as a result of the ongoing global microchip shortage, the feature will be limited to only certain models.

Another important update is the addition of an automatic engine stop-start disable switch, allowing owners to turn off the automatic engine stop-start feature as desired. Outside, the 2022 Chevy Traverse features new styling, with three new hues joining the lineup, specifically Northsky Blue Metallic, Silver Sage Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat.

The base-model L trim level will also be deleted with the introduction of the 2022 model year.

Production of the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse is expected kick off August 2^nd at the GM Lansing Delta Township facility in Michigan.
