Cadillac CT6 sales increase in the United States and decreased in Canada in February 2018.

The CT6 had a decent February, with overall sales up but lagging behind the overall segment, which grew nearly 15 percent. The performance places the full-size Cadillac sedan in second place in its competitive set in terms of overall sales volume – behind the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Even so, the CT6 outsold the BMW 7 Series, Lexus LS, Genesis G90, and Audi A8 (see Audi A8 sales). Over the last few months, both the LS and A8 have been seeing abnormally low sales volumes as a result of ongoing launches of all-new models, but deliveries of the Lexus are on the rise, as retail inventory begins to build. Meanwhile, deliveries of the Audi continue to fall as dealers sell out of the remaining units of the last-generation model as they await the arrival of the all-new model.
We attribute February CT6 sales performance to the following factors:

The full-size prestige luxury sedan segment expanded 14.5 percent in February and 3.6 percent in the first two months of 2018.
Below, we have included sales of the Cadillac XTS, Lincoln Continental and Acura RLX for informational purposes. The vehicles are full-size from a dimensional standpoint, but are significantly less refined than the above models, while being priced significantly lower. Therefore, these models are not entirely in the same competitive set as the aforementioned models.

The Cadillac CT6 is a full-size prestige luxury sedan. It slots above the mid-size Cadillac CTS and compact Cadillac ATS as the largest Cadillac sedan. The vehicle rides on the advanced, high-tech and lightweight GM Omega platform that is currently not shared with any other vehicles, though a full-size Cadillac crossover on the architecture has been rumored.
The current model was introduced for the 2016 model year and represents the first model year of the first-generation CT6. The 2017 model year saw a few minor changes, including the addition of two new exterior colors and darker finish taillamps. The 2018 CT6 introduced such features as Super Cruise, Rear Camera Mirror Washer for the Rear Camera Mirror, as well as an updated CUE infotainment system (to version 2.6).
For the 2019 model year, the CT6 receives a refresh, otherwise known as a facelift or mid-cycle enhancement (MCE, that includes revised exterior styling similar to that of the Escala concept, a new high-performance V-Sport model, the new Cadillac 4.2L Twin-Turbo V-8 engine, a new trim level structure, and improvements to in-vehicle technology. In addition, the 2019 Cadillac CT6 gets the new GM 10-speed automatic transmission on all models, while the base model gets a new base engine in the form of the all-new 2.0L Turbo LSY engine, which replaces the last-generation 2.0L Turbo LTG.
For North American markets, the CT6 is built by GM USA at the GM Detroit-Hamtramck factory. For China, the model is built at the Cadillac China factory, aka SGM Jinqiao. The CT6 Plug-In model is built at the SGM Jinqiao plant for global markets, including the United States.

Respectable figures, but I bet we see these sales number tick up after the refreshed model goes on sale. It's a real stunner and should really grab prospective buyers attention.
Yeah I'm almost wondering if we'll see a dip over the next few months until the refresh is actually available; as few will want this version now.
Thing is that people don't buy cars like that... we (those in the know... the enthusiasts) do/might... but "real people" that make up the overwhelming majority of vehicle purchases do not. They buy when they need to - when their lease is up, when their current car breaks or totaled, or when they simply get the itch to buy a new car.
We might see a dip... but I don't think that dip will come from people waiting for the 2019 CT6.
Any uptick in Cadillacs flagship model is good news . I do wonder though if the increase has some thing to do with the poor sales of the Lincoln Continental . Even though the article doesn't think it is in the same league as the CT6 , others may disagree . Recently an article in Jalopnik said that interest in the Lincoln is falling and sales to fleet are increasing to help hold up their numbers and people are looking at the CT6 now as they cross shop .
Sales may slip some on CT6 once the news on the first V8 coming for Cadillac in years gathers momentum . Some people say that most Cadillac owners don't care whats under the hood , but I disagree . The serious Cadillac buyer will now be able to say with pride whats under the hood , which does a lot for image and prestige .
Hmm...continental not doing so well. It's a nice car but I've always preferred Cadillac. The CT6 V-Sport only cements my feelings that Caddy is elevating itself more so than Lincoln is
Every Cadillac sedan (except for the soon-to-be-discontinued XTS) is on its own platform developed specifically for Cadillac. Meanwhile, every Lincoln model is on a platform shared with lesser Ford vehicles. I think that illustrates exactly how "serious" FoMoCo is about Lincoln.
And then there's the rumored discontinuation of the Continental...

It takes real guts, patience and a certain amount of conviction to invest into turning around a beleaguered luxury brand like Cadillac. GM seems to have that patience. No so sure about Ford.
Is the Escalade platform unique to the 'Slade? I thought that was a shared one ... and there was a post awhile back regarding sharing the Enclave's platform for a 3-row SUV, but that seems to have quieted down.
In any event, improvement ... more platforms, engines and design schemes unique to Cadillac ...
I would like to know if any PHEV CT6 models have been sold in the U.S.
