The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq hit a major production milestone in October 2022. With 2,000 units built during that month, more units of the Lyriq have been manufactured so far in 2022 than the 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup.
During October 2022, GM produced 2,000 examples of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq at its GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. This means that October 2022 production represents almost 54 percent of Lyriq units built since the beginning of the luxury crossover’s production, which commenced in March 2022 and has yielded a grand total of 3,715 units produced as of October 31st.
October 2022 is the fourth month in a row that GM built more units of the Cadillac Lyriq than the Hummer EV Pickup. This comes a result of GM favoring Cadillac Lyriq production over the Hummer EV, with Lyriq production ramping up at the expense of GMC Hummer EV Pickup production.
The most likely cause of this inverse relationship was GM’s limited supply of Ultium battery cells on hand, with more resources dedicated to the Cadillac. It’s also worth noting that Hummer EV production was idled for a month as the GM Factory Zero plant received upgrades in order to build future products such as the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV.

Notably, the table above does not include production numbers for the BrightDrop Zevo 600 delivery van, which also utilizes GM Ultium batteries.
Due to the launch of the first Ultium Cells plant in Ohio, battery pack supply is increasing. As a result, more Cadillac Lyriqs were built in October 2022 than any other month prior. This rise in production is quite apropos, as pre-orders for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq are completely full, with GM forced to extend the waitlist to the 2024 model year.
As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq receives output from the GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, while under the skin, the all-electric crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform.

I put the $100.00 down on a new Lyriq and have not heard anything. How do I go about finding out where or if I’m on the list.
Anywhere I could go to get some information would be helpful.
The $100 reserves a spot with your designated local Cadillac dealer--Call them--the instructions/fine print on line still requires you to visit the store to proceed to then next step//
Check with the Cadillac dealership you listed when you made your reservation.
The AWD 700E4 Lyriq has been reveal in the Sport Trim.
Things noticeable is the Sunroof, the blue exterior blue and rear HVAC Control.
This sounds promising, it shows that unlike many critics claim gm knows what they are doing. As soon as they got their 1st battery plant online, their production numbers skyrocketed. GM has a smart long-term plan, unlike other manufactures.
All 3715 sold imagine
There is a willing slice of the market for EV.
GM will quietly hold on to ICE as long as they can but they will still have the EV models along side.
I see the head of Toyota complaining. I expect the global powers will attack him and Toyota in the public domain.
I guess I made the Mistake of having as my only option on the 2wd car and plain tires and wheels, Blue paint.
Went to the dealer over a month ago to see the Lyriq travelling roadshow and was told they made a few blue models but now the paint shop won't make any blue ones for a long while by the GM big expert.
Anyone worried about the 20 or so LYRIQs actually driving around harming the 'Grid' has nothing to worry about.
Enough of the whining that you still haven’t received your Lyriq and all the compromises you’re going to have to suffer through because you don’t want or need all those features.
You had to have the latest and greatest. Now get over it! You’re such a spoiled/entitled brat and no one feels sorry for you.
Man I feel sorry for anyone who has to be around you for any length of time.
I'm making more of a complaint that the gm of today is unlike the GM of yesteryear.
As far as being a 'spoiled brat' - I am quite sure I have worked much harder and longer than you ever have.
But you are a much more muscular 'Keyboard Warrior' than I could ever be.
Toyota is going to start losing out on sales as their past customers transition to a different brand that provides a compelling EV.
Right now EVs are production constrained. In the next couple years, those constraints will start to lift and people can really start buying EVs. Toyota customers are prime examples of individuals who will want EVs and Toyota won’t be able to provide. GM could significantly benefit from that. Finally an opportunity for Toyota customers to test drive something other than their beloved Toyota. And they’ll realize how much better the alternatives are. That’s when Toyota will really feel the pain and they’ll be so far behind and will have lost a lot to f customers by that time.
Which ones are better? Toyota makes great cars.
Get in a 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra or Sequoia. If you think they’re great after a test drive, you need to increase your standards.
Toyota has been slipping due to the lack real updates. Much of their product is mild updates. The Tacoma is a prime example. It still has rear drum brakes less power and horrible seating.
Toyota's leadership in hybrid's "should" put them ahead. BUT after having 4 Lexus Hybrids 2010-CT,2013 ES-300H and 2-2019 ES'- 300H. They lost me.
I have a 2022 Premium Mach-e with 6,000 miles and Lyriq on-order. But my plan of my wife taking the Lyriq not working. She is not sold on EV's and enjoys the 44 MPG of her 300H. Also loves a 500+ miles on a full tank.
So good bye to the Mach-e. A very good car only 2 minor problems. The Phone as a Key is not 100% solution. It has an annoying ORANGE screen "key not found" after driving to the store, parking, shopping and "TRYING" to drive home! Also on main highways whose construction is poured concrete slabs it develops a slight HOP!
Honda equally a global leader to Toyota on alternate fuel vehicles, surprised me endorsing the Ultium and using a GM plant to launch its first US manufacturing. They should easily learn from GM's current issues before gearing up their Ohio flagship plant.
If they offered this same car with just the old tried and true 3.6 V6 in them they would have sold 10 times as many of them by now.....
If Apple made their latest laptops with the old Motorola processors, would you buy it? Same with car buyers who don't want old technology even as old as a gasoline engine in their cars.
I don't buy Apple....I'm not into cults.
Since 98% of new cars sold still have this "old technology" it would seem that car buyers DO want it.
Again, my statement stands, offer 2 Lyrics, one with gas and one electric and the gas one would outsell the electric one 20/1
Toyota and the German automakers are the main loosers against Tesla, according to car sales tables. So It is going to happen again with GM's portfolio ....GM Will gain market share as It ramps UP EVs production.
I'm really interested to see where you get your data from. My debut edition was built in early december and carries a VIN ending in the 500s. Unless they produced units out of sequence the 2000 number makes absolutely no sense.
Numbers look good let's see if the reliability after sales hold up. Looking forward to seeing how long until the first major issue in regards to anything electrical/battery within the first 3 years of ownership (typical lease).
