2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS Teased, To Be Fully Revealed On July 18th

GM just teased the upcoming 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS, announcing that the new all-electric crossover will get a full reveal on July 18th.

In addition to announcing the debut date for the new Blazer EV, GM also dropped a new photo of the crossover in full, unobscured glory. The image shows the new all-electric Chevy from the front three-quarters view, with the body panels covered in Radiant Red Metallic paint. A few other noteworthy features include a technical frontend design, complete with horizontal lighting bits and an SS badge, as well as the large two-tone wheels. The roofline looks low thanks to a raised shoulder line and black lower trim, with the roof also done in black for a two-tone finish. Of course, GM states that the vehicle shown in this new image is a preproduction vehicle, and that the actual production model will vary.

When it arrives, the Chevy Blazer EV will be the third model to hit the market with GM’s Ultium battery technology and Ultium motor technology, following the GMC Hummer EV off-roader and Cadillac Lyriq EV luxury crossover. Under the skin, the Chevy Blazer SS will ride on the GM BEV3 platform. The Chevy Blazer EV will also be the first all-electric Chevy model to wear the legendary SS badge.

Inside the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is expected to run a large infotainment screen and digital instrument panel, a setup that should resemble the interior layout on offer from the new Chevy Silverado EV. Check out previous GM Authority spy photos of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV interior for more.

When it launches, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is expected to rival the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Prototype versions of the Blazer EV have also been spotted testing on public roads alongside the Volkswagen ID.4

Look for the new 2024 Chevy Blazer EV to be available in the Spring of 2023.

  • Chevrolet likes to throw the SS badge on everything. They've destroyed it. I just don't understand GM at all...

    • I honestly dont think that is the case here. As a matter of fact GM has made a bold statement with pushing out a new SS Blazer that we have been bothering them about. I think this is a high performance EV Blazer with possibly a lower range distance trade off.

      • I get what you're saying, but the SS badge back in the day really meant something. Legendary cars wore that badge & it actually meant something. Today its just lost its meaning. I don't think putting it on an all electric SUV is going to help purify the SS badge at all.

        • True. I understand what you are saying now. That is what happens when GM corporate central crushed their famous and renowned Divisions into being mere brands of the company. If it were up to me I would return the Divisions back to being decentralized interdependent semi autonomous arms of GM.

      • Huh? Cobalt SS, '06 - '07 Malibu SS, HHR SS, Trailblazer SS, Silverado SS & Impala SS just to name a few.... AND Chevelle SS, Monte Carlo SS, El Camino SS, Nova SS

        • IMO, it’s been at least 13 years since “SS” was placed on an unworthy vehicle. I’m going to withhold negative judgment until more info is released. If this thing turns out to be lame, then I’ll agree with you; we’ve got a Malibu Maxx SS 2.0 situation.

          • I agree with you, and yes the '06 Malibu SS is probably the worst offender. How is 240 hp & front wheel drive SS badge worthy? lol

    • This thing will be SS worthy. You can pretty much assume this guy is gonna have 450+ HP and likely 600+ torque. It will also have a price to match it's performance lol.

  • Goofy looking.
What's up with the rear cargo area side window? Looks like a rectangular piece of Plexiglas just glued in place.

The Equinox EV is WAYYYY better looking.

  • It actually looks nice, although it is a disgrace to the Blazer nameplate. I would drive it if EVs were forced on us, but for now I’ll stick with my Duramax and impala police interceptor.

  • Those tires. Drive anywhere in Detroit and you bend a rim. I can feel the car crashing over potholes already.

  • It looks great, it's too bad that the wiring in my home is older that I doubt that it can support a at home charger.

  • If the performance part is done correctly and this has a Good Interior, these will sell very well.
I am assuming it will have slightly less Range overall than the rest of the Blazer Range but Zero to Sixty better be under 4 seconds.

    • I think it looks pretty good overall, but yeah, the front is a little on the busy side, but I wouldn't call it a complete mess. Need to see more angles. If there is an RS version that looks mostly like this but maybe with a slightly less aggressive front end, it could be very nice also.
