The 2024 Chevy Colorado debuts the second model year for the third-gen pickup, dropping in with several important updates and changes compared to the initial 2023 model year. However, GM Authority has learned that the 2024 Chevy Colorado is no longer available to order in Nitro Yellow Metallic paint. Whether Nitro Yellow Metallic will return to the Chevy Colorado paint options list for the 2025 model year is unclear.
Nitro Yellow Metallic paint is tagged with paint code GCP and will be built out after the week of April 15th, 2024. Nitro Yellow Metallic paint was initially added to the Chevy Colorado paint options lineup in conjunction with the all-new 2023 model year. It was one of five new exterior colors added to the palette, the other four being Glacier Blue Metallic, Harvest Bronze Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. Nitro Yellow Metallic was previously offered for an extra $395 and was optional on Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 trim levels.
With Nitro Yellow Metallic no longer available for the 2024 model year, the rest of the 2024 Chevy Colorado paint options include (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):
As for the updates introduced for the 2024 model year, the Chevy Colorado now offers the new Colorado ZR2 Bison Edition package (RPO code ULV), which elevates the pickup’s off-road prowess with features like AEV-spec steel bumpers, AEV skid plates, AEV wheel flares, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, off-road lights, Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers, and more.
As for the engine specs, the 2024 Chevy Colorado offers two options, starting with the Turbo 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Customers can also step up to the TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
The updated 31XX-2 platform provides the underpinnings. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

I just do not like this one. Too "sour". I am all for vibrant colours to an extent, but this is a color I'd get sick of quick. I prefer pale, non-metallic yellows like Butternut from the 1960's.
I had a pale yellow 68 Mustang and a mustard yellow 82 S-10 Sport. Those were cool yellows, this new GM color is more gold bronze and ugly.
Good, that’s a nasty color.
Bummer. This color is beautiful.
Good! A vehicle with that color only needed one more option. "TAXI" painted on it's hood, trunk, driver and passenger doors.
You have to see it in person, I love it. I have my 2024 ZR2 on order in this color and now I am worried I won't get it. GM should not be discontinuing a color in the middle of a model year. I am starting to think I was just not meant to have this truck. Been doing the ordering process for over a year now and still no manufacture date. My 2023 order was cancelled due to the strike. maybe time to look at the new Tacoma.
Why aren’t the 2024 ordered Colorados being shipped. Mine has been sitting in a lot in MO for a month.
They are on a quality hold, not sure what is wrong with them, but none are shipping at this point.
I ordered a Colorado ZR2 in Sand Dune Metallic on March 16th. Dealer called today, GM finally accepted my order. Best guess is Mid May, but who knows! Salesman said we should have a TPW in a few days...
I still think Dark Ash Metallic should be a color choice for the Colorado/Canyon like on the Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban.
GM accepted my ZR2 order on January 5th and I still don't have a production date. Plus, now they discontinued my color so who knows. I'm pretty much done with GM.
Just build and deliver trucks Who cares if yellow is not offered Oh yes put a transmission in that works
Gents...remember, beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder. Chevy's Nitro Yellow metallic combined with the new body style and incredible turbo-charged engine, interior/trailering/electronic features, plus 2-inch factory lift is EXACTLY why a very similar brand new, GMC SOLAR FLARE METALLIC Elevation Canyon is sitting in our garage right now. Both my wifey and I LOVE this color....even only after one beer.
