The 2023 Chevy Colorado adds five new exterior colors to its palette: Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Nitro Yellow Metallic, Glacier Blue Metallic, and Harvest Bronze Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Bronze hue.
Assigned RPO code GXN and touch-up paint code WA-135H, Harvest Bronze Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the next-generation midsize pickup truck, which include:
- Summit White
- Black
- Sand Dune Metallic
- Glacier Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
- Nitro Yellow Metallic (new for 2023)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)
- Harvest Bronze Metallic (new for 2023)
The Harvest Bronze Metallic color is a no-cost item that is available on all trim levels and can be combined with all available interior colorways.
For reference, here are the three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Colorado:
- Jet Black (WT, LT, Trail Boss)
- Jet Black/Adrenaline Red (Z71)
- Jet Black/Artemis (ZR2)
The all-new, third-generation 2023 Chevy Colorado arrives featuring a new exterior, a new powertrain, plenty of on-board technology, and a completely revised interior. The new model rides on an updated platform, resulting in a more refined truck that is also more capable off-road. The 2023 Colorado is available in five trim levels – WT, LT, Z71, first-ever Trail Boss, and ZR2. The ZR2, meanwhile, offers a special edition in the form of the ZR2 Desert Boss.
Under the hood resides one of two powertrains – the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine as well as the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine in Turbo Plus and Turbo High Output configurations. The new powerplants are mated to a new-generation eight-speed automatic transmission, which is vastly improved compared to the preceding GM eight-speed automatic, though a few issues still remain.
The 2023 Colorado also gets a new StowFlex Tailgate and new wheel designs up to 22 inches, plus a vast range of available accessories, with Chevy set to offer over 200 individual parts and components from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado started on January 25th at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, while the new ZR2 trim started rolling off the line in mid-May. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Colorado.
The Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison returns as the all-new 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and will replace the Desert Boss package. For 2024, the Bison will be offered as a standalone trim level rather than as a package.

I saw an Equinox in this recently and was wondering “since when does the Nox offer a green”? It does look army-greenish, certainly not bronze-ish. Kia has a green that looks bronze…thinking color blindness is a problem with paint designers. I can’t stand either.
I was all set on talking myself into liking this color, because it is not silver, gray, white, or black. I even posted a screen shot of an Equinox RS in this color from Chevy’s site to my Facebook. But then when my cousin came in and commented using the words “poop brown”, it all went into the crapper from there.
I agree 100% and don’t like the army green that it turns into in sunlight. I’m all for alternatives to the “boring 4” but some of the new ones are…bad. I can’t stand Fountain Blue and Riptide Blue either…too bright on anything larger than a (discontinued) Spark.
You really can’t win on these sites. If the color is silver then the complaint is everything is silver. If it is anything but black/white, the complaint is they don’t like it. Me, I’m glad to see some color palette back.
Agreed, that is why I gravitated toward it. The CGI skews the color toward the green side, though in person, it is a very intense brown in the shade, but in the sun, the metallic really pops. I just cannot unsee the “#2” image in my head. I would love a wider color palette on just about every gm (except Corvette) and Stellantis vehicle (except the Wrangler and Charger/Challenger, which are awesome for color choice). Also, I LOVE Ford’s Eruption Green.
The color is nice but the computer image isn’t. Real world photos would be better.
It looks brownish in low light and army green in sunlight. So it’s hard to nail down. But bronze? Bronze is an orangish gold, not this. Must be harvesting dead plants.
Not sure where you guys commenting about Army green are coming from. My coworker has this Colorado in Harvest Bronze and it never looks green at any angle in any lighting condition. Poop brown is the best way to describe it
Yes, but we don’t need to immediately go from boring to outrageous. And then there’s the dealer problem. Most won’t order many in the new colors, believing that only the boring 4 will sell.
They still can’t build a good trans ???
New colors 🤮
It’s an odd color and look’s especially bad with the ugly black wheels. The new red tintcoat is odd too, liked the earlier one better.

I have this on my ’23 Sierra Crew Cab. I get compliments on the color almost every day.
Do we know what the colors are going to be for the 2024 Colorado’s yet?
I keep waiting for a “deeper red”…
I have red tint coat on my ‘17 crew cab and I don’t like it in the sun . My 19990 Silverado was dark red but no tint coat .
Yeah deeper red : 👍👌

I know some will disagree with me but these car companies and I mean all of them need to dig into some of the 1970s colors beautiful browns, midnight blue, all different shades of red just to name a few and speaking of Chevy what ever happened to Chevy blue that the Chevelle, Camaro and even Chevy trucks had it was a kind of light blue metallic… Bring that back.
Check that out… in 1 month, it’ll be on shortage!
I like the colors on the Chevy Colorado z71 and the gmc canyon at4
