2023 Chevy Colorado Gets New Radiant Red Tintcoat Color: First Look

The 2023 Chevy Colorado adds five new exterior colors to its palette: Nitro Yellow Metallic, Glacier Blue Metallic, Harvest Bronze Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. Here’s our first look at the new Red hue.

Assigned RPO code GNT and touch-up paint code WA-170H, Radiant Red Tintcoat is one of eight exterior colors offered on the next-generation midsize pickup truck, which include:

  • Summit White
  • Black
  • Sand Dune Metallic
  • Glacier Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Nitro Yellow Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
  • Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Harvest Bronze Metallic (new for 2023)

The Radiant Red Tintcoat color is an extra-cost option priced at $495. It is available on all trim levels and can be combined with all available interior colorways.

For reference, here are the three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Colorado:

  • Jet Black (WT, LT, Trail Boss)
  • Jet Black/Adrenaline Red (Z71)
  • Jet Black/Artemis (ZR2)

The all-new, third-generation 2023 Chevy Colorado arrives featuring a new exterior, a new powertrain, plenty of on-board technology, and a completely revised interior. The new model rides on an updated platform, resulting in a more refined truck that is also more capable off-road. The 2023 Colorado is available in five trim levels – WT, LT, Z71, Trail Boss, and ZR2. The ZR2 also offers a special edition in the form of the ZR2 Desert Boss.

Under the hood resides one of two powertrains – the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine as well as the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine in Turbo Plus and Turbo High Output configurations. The new powerplants are mated to a new-generation eight-speed automatic transmission, which is vastly improved compared to the preceding GM eight-speed automatic, though a few issues still remain.

The 2023 Colorado also gets a new StowFlex Tailgate and new wheel designs up to 22 inches, plus a vast range of available accessories, with Chevy set to offer over 200 individual parts and components from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog.

Production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado started on January 25th at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, while the new ZR2 trim started rolling off the line in mid-May. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Colorado.

The Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison returns as the all-new 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and will replace the Desert Boss package. For 2024, the Bison will be offered as a standalone trim level rather than as a package.

  1. The old red tint coat was better, this one is too dark.

  2. Why is this article even relevant? The colors were established 6 months ago and the 23 models only have another month left in its lifetime.

    1. I know, these articles make no sense: just a couple of sentences about the color that we’ve known about for close to a year, copy and paste the same several paragraphs (“as a reminder…”) for the rest of the the article. It’d be great if they used actual photos of the truck with said color in various real-world lighting situations as the rendered build and price photos can be quite misleading on their own.
