The 2023 Chevy Colorado adds five new exterior colors to its palette: Harvest Bronze Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Nitro Yellow Metallic, and Glacier Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Blue hue.
Assigned RPO code GLT and touch-up paint code WA-327E, Glacier Blue Metallic is one of eight exterior colors offered on the next-generation midsize pickup truck, which include:
- Summit White
- Black
- Sand Dune Metallic
- Glacier Blue Metallic (new for 2023)
- Nitro Yellow Metallic (new for 2023)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)
- Harvest Bronze Metallic (new for 2023)
The Glacier Blue Metallic color is an extra-cost option priced at $395. It is available on all trim levels and can be combined with all available interior colorways.
For reference, here are the three available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Colorado:
- Jet Black (WT, LT, Trail Boss)
- Jet Black/Adrenaline Red (Z71)
- Jet Black/Artemis (ZR2)
The all-new, third-generation 2023 Chevy Colorado arrives featuring a new exterior, a new powertrain, plenty of on-board technology, and a completely revised interior. The new model rides on an updated platform, resulting in a more refined truck that is also more capable off-road. The 2023 Colorado is available in five trim levels – WT, LT, Z71, first-ever Trail Boss, and ZR2. The ZR2 also offers a special edition in the form of the ZR2 Desert Boss.
Under the hood resides one of two powertrains – the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine as well as the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine in Turbo Plus and Turbo High Output configurations. The new powerplants are mated to a new-generation eight-speed automatic transmission, which is vastly improved compared to the preceding GM eight-speed automatic, though a few issues still remain.
The 2023 Colorado also gets a new StowFlex Tailgate and new wheel designs up to 22 inches, plus a vast range of available accessories, with Chevy set to offer over 200 individual parts and components from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Colorado started on January 25th at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, while the new ZR2 trim started rolling off the line in mid-May. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Colorado.
The Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison returns as the all-new 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and will replace the Desert Boss package. For 2024, the Bison will be offered as a standalone trim level rather than as a package.

Looks much better in the actual photos. At least it’s not one of these new “shocking” blues that look fine on tiny vehicles but not on anything larger and make me want to hurl. It’s not the 1970s anymore. Yes, they aren’t boring, but way too far at the other end.
Oh, look at all those beautiful interior color choices. Ugly, boring BLACK, showes all the dirt and dust and absorbs all the heat in summer.
Correction, hides dirt (though dust shows up). I prefer black since I use my truck to work and looks cleaner. We’ve had some other colors like tan and it looked bad and required a bunch of upkeep to keep looking nice. Don’t get leather, that solves the heat problem. Also no glare with black…
Hey Deke,
Agreed. Would prefer a lighter color interior.
However, the exterior colors are looking quite nice.
That Sand Dune Metallic is looking good to me… might have to put one of these trucks on my new car shopping list. 🙂
The blue is okay but why charge extra for it? This truck has much potential but needs some re-packaging and they could take a page from Ford on some of these items. Starting with the interior they really need to offer a grey or tan like the Ranger as a second choice from the black only Chevy forces on you. Second the WT needs some normal alloy wheel option like the Ranger has. Third the LT needs nicer looking alloy wheels in place of the drab rather small grey tinted versions that are std. Fourth Chevy should offer an LTZ or Premier with a little more exterior brightwork and fancier wheels as the Ranger does in it’s Lariat trim. Fifth they should really consider a physical headlight switch. And last the LT trim should have a few more items included as std for the prices being charged.
CHOICE is the key thing in interior color. I can’t believe that years ago you could pick and choose what you wanted. In this modern-day with all the computer advantages they can’t build vehicles with half the option choices than before. Progress?
So disappointed Chevy eliminated Laser Metallic Blue on Colorados…a gorgeous color I had a million compliments on my 2017 truck.
