First offered for the 1996 model year as a replacement for the Vandura, the GMC Savana full-size van has soldiered on through a single generation mostly unchanged, save for a facelift for the 2003 model year, plus a few other updates in the years that followed. Great vans. Nice that GM is not messing them up. But too bad AWD and left side doors are not still available.
Yes, and also too bad that the price keeps increasing so much, said a retiree on a fixed income.
It's time for and update on the passenger vans
It would be nice if they would pick my order up and build my van that I ordered. Called GM they told me it was in transit. Dealership says not to hold my breath on getting van.
Ernie, I also have had 1 ON ORDER since April 29 2021 !!!!!! When I call about it all they ever tell me is "the order has been accepted". WTF ? I live in R.I.
Told me the same thing accepted but won't pick up the order who knows what gm is thinking. Why don't they just tell you that you can't have it.
I just ordered one this week. The dealer wouldn’t even take a deposit because they have no idea when or if it will be built. One of his customers finally got his 2 cargo vans recently after a year and a half wait. What a way to do business.
I may have this wrong but I seem to remember that the 2024 Savana 6.6L is moving away from the 6 speed HD Transmission to an 8 speed HD trans. Is anyone aware of what this change may do for gasoline mileage for the 6.6L config? Also, wondering if this transmission is completely new or if it is the same HD as was previously used in trucks before the change to 10 speed trans. If it is not an appreciable improvement, I may just look for a 2023.
