Production of the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq luxury crossover officially got under way at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee last March, and since then, production figures have been slowly ramping up, with more than 2,000 units produced in December of 2022 alone.
According to the latest figures, a total of 2,003 units of the Cadillac Lyriq were produced last month, marking one of the highest monthly production figures since the first unit rolled off the line last March. The highest monthly production figure recorded thus far was in November of 2022 at 2,477 units, while 2,000 units were produced last October, and 1,000 units were produced last September. A total of 8,195 units were produced during the 2022 calendar year.
Prior to September, monthly Cadillac Lyriq production figures were measured at a few hundred units for July and August, and tens of units before that. As it turns out, this slow production ramp-up process is actually intentional, as GM is working through some small teething issues before delivering the vast majority of units produced thus far, as GM Authority covered previously. Only 122 units were delivered during the 2022 calendar year.
Check out the table below for a more thorough breakdown of Cadillac Lyriq production for the 2022 calendar year. Note that this table also includes production numbers for the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, which is assembled at the GM Factory Zero plant (previously known as Detroit-Hamtramck) and, like the Cadillac Lyriq, utilizes GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium drive motors:

Let's talk about the number delivered!!! Still under 100? What are they doing with vehicles they say are built if they are not really ready for delivery?
Initial build quality at Spring Hill must be pretty bad. I know my XT6 could have used a little more attention to quality while running down the line.
Where are these figures coming from? They are totally inaccurate for Spring Hill Lyriq production. These numbers are way too high, or must be global (which includes China Lyriq).
Bill, do you work or live in Spring Hill? Curious about your comment, but definitely believe you.
I was hyped for the LYRIQ till I saw its two step doors (WTF?) and its janky charge port cover.
I join the rest of the reactions here.... Over 8,000 supposedly manufactured but 122 sales, and of course the dealers have ZERO information as to when the cars ordered 8 months ago are even going to be delivered...
I notice that December has production slowing down greatly - with no more HUMMER EVs at all.. The factories must be running out of parking spaces to stuff them. They are not in general, at the dealerships. OVER 8,000 being stored - and even that number is assuming the 122 number isn't itself being padded to count even the most ridiculous sale as an ACTUAL one.
We drove the Lyriq and spoke with the Cadillac rep earlier this week. Best ride quality of any EV I have driven. Great acceleration and it was only the single motor RWD. We have a deposit on the AWD and looking forward to it.
I cannot speak to where the productions numbers are, but form our conversations, Cadilliac is trying to catch all the bugs prior to releasing the Lyriq in mass. They want it to be a success without being plagued by issues. I think you will see dealers flooded once they are content that they have resolved most all the software / hardware bugs.
Big picture, check out GM Energy and the direction of GM as an energy producer using bi-directional EV charging. Very cool.
Seems odd with 8195 vehicle built that not a word from the dealer on our order status. Did I misunderstand the Debut models only had 1500 sold so that makes me wonder where are the rest of the vehicles going? Can someone explain how the order process worked? I ordered as soon as they opened the order process back up in May and then a couple of weeks later I get a email from the dealer with the color, wheel and AWD option form to be signed and returned. But now my understanding is at some point we will get another email or call with a build date. If this is the case then that would mean 8195 people have already got build dates?
122 sold for all of 2022. Assuming that number isn't padded. I'm waiting for an unwanted black one to arrive maybe 12 months after a confirmed order on a blue one.
