Since May 2022, Cadillac Lyriq production has hit a new record high every month. Back in October 2022, production of the all-electric luxury crossover came in at 2,000 units, double that of September 2022. Now, GM Authority has learned that production has hit a new record once again.
During November 2022, GM produced 2,477 examples of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. This means that November 2022 production represents 40 percent of all Cadillac Lyriq production since it commenced in March 2022. As of November 30th, GM has produced 6,192 units of the Lyriq.

Notably, the table above does not include production numbers for the BrightDrop Zevo 600, which also utilizes GM Ultium batteries.
Production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq has been low due to the limited amount of Ultium batteries available. However, thanks to the launch of the first Ultium Cells plant in Ohio, battery pack supply has been increasing. As a result, Cadillac Lyriq production has been steadily rising. In addition, GM’s recent $2.5 billion loan from the U.S. Department of Energy will be used to facilitate the construction of three more Ultium Cells plants, which will further increase output.
As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is powered by the GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors. Under the skin, the all-electric crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform.

Why did GM produce so little? It is not enough to deliver to customers. It will be released in the global market from 2023, so can you produce a small amount like this and ship it properly? GM must solve the problem of production.
Read the article? Answered your questions…
Brilliant I certainly agree with you in that this release has not been handled intelligently. I think it is dirty pool that they advertised a low price, then raised It $3,000 , and then will lower it again next year. But to the extent that people accept this, it is what it is.
Even if I raced out right now. I wouldn’t see this car (NEW) until 2024. And then I would be hit over the head with the dealer upcharge. Upcharge $10,000 and higher. This pile isn’t worth this effort or the money, especially the first year. HOLD……….
The question has to be asked…. Why could the old GM turn out all the Volts the market asked for a full 12 years ago, but has such a pitiful response now?
One commenter here stated that by his VIN # he obviously has the 500th Lyriq, who has just now received it!!! He suspected gm is padding the numbers.
All I know is that by the time I get mine I will have waited 2% of my lifetime since my confirmed hard manufacturing order.
too far over their/GM skies. Just like everything else.
GM is approaching 1 million reservations for its 5 evs (Silverado, Hummer Lyriq, Blazer and Equinox.). At this production rate it is going to take 10 years to fulfill them (and that is with no new reservations in the next 10 years). Come on GM!!
Where did you get this information from? What is the percentage of Lyrqiq’s out of the Million?
Good thing that this is just the very beginning of the production ramp. EV’s need batteries. And GM is building a whole lot of battery production capacity right now.
Their Warren, OH Ultium facility just started production and this is why we are just starting to see Hummer EV and Lyriq numbers increase. Warren, OH should be at full capacity later in 2023. Also later in 2023 Ultium Spring Hill will be producing battery cells (at even a higher capacity than Warren).
So your comment “At this production rate” is odd. Because this will not be the production rate of tomorrow let a lone of next month or of next year.
I’m not sure why this is so hard for many here to comprehend.
Oh we do comprehend that production will ramp up but so will demand and new people on waiting lists. To meet demand and not make people wait 2 years to get a car they will need to produce 100 to 150 thousand cars per month.
You also need to take into account the fact that GM has put all theirs eggs in a single basket by sourcing all its batteries from one supplier, LG Chem (when Tesla has 3 suppliers so if something goes wrong they have a way out). LG Chem had more battery recalls that all other battery manufacturer put together, so when GM experiences another battery disaster like with the Bolt, and trust me it will happen, everything will be halted again. GM needs a miracle or to get a second battery supplier.
I really hope I am wrong since I have 2 reservations with GM
There isn’t enough infrastructure for electric cars to fill up and without paralyzing households..
Gas guzzlers unite in one big belly laugh. Let’s spend billions of dollars on EVs and figure out later how to get them all to run after we make them.
Sounds like Nancy Pelosi- “We have to pass the bill before we/you read it”.
charging stations are poping everywhere. I think we will be fine, at least for those of us who will charge at home 95% of the time. What I am dreading is my 3000 mile annual trips that I plan to continue to take when I get my EV in 2 years because charging stations at motels are almost non existing. Let’ s hope it changes and that Trumps never comes back to office otherwise electrification is screwed
Martin, You said it perfectly. Popping up. This will not work. Required is infrustructure. I just pulled out my Cummins Onan 3.6KY in my 2022 KZ 5th wheel. Just installed ecoflow brain and 2 batteries 10.7K. Works like a champ. G. Newsom/CA Gov will not allow anyone to have small ICE’s less than 10K to be serviced, starting in 2024. I live in SF. Per the internet there are well over 110 ev chargers in SF alone. This is false. They are installing them in large clusters. Big tax right off. They are not spaced all over the place and 80% are super chargers. Most of them are tesla. Gm will not work with tesla. This setup is scam. GM purchasers will have to set up at home. So for this to be figured out and hasn’t in the epicenter/SF of this scam should have evryone HOLD on an EV purchase. 250 miles out to spend 1 hour at each charging station isn’t my idea of a blast. 6K miles including round trip add 24 hours to charge.

Eric, Maybe time to put option “B” into play.
Sorry Bro , That sux.
Everythiing they tell you is a lie! If they say left, they mean right.
6200 Lyriqs produced through November and maybe another 2500 in December. Total sales during 2022, according to GM, have been 122. Where and why are the hiding them?
