GM Cancelled Some 2022 Chevy Trailblazer Orders

General Motors has canceled hundreds of dealer orders for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, GM Authority has learned. The canceled orders consist of 2022 Chevy Trailblazer LS FWD and LT FWD models equipped with the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine.

GM Authority reached out to Senior Manager, Chevrolet EV, Car, Crossover, Performance Vehicle and Motorsports Communications, Kevin Kelly, who shed some light on the situation:

“We did have to modify some dealer orders for the 2022 Trailblazer due to the ongoing, industry-wide semiconductor shortage,” Kelly told GM Authority. “This did only affect vehicles equipped with the 1.2L engine. It’s important to note that no customer orders were affected by this change. We expect to resume production of the 1.2L Trailblazers when the semiconductor situation improves.”

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer is the second model year for the nameplate’s all-new crossover body style, introducing a handful of changes and updates over the initial 2021 model year. Among these is the addition of a heated steering wheel to the options list, offered for the LT trim level as part of the Premium Seating Package (RPO code PCL) or Adaptive Cruise Control Package (PGY). The heated steering wheel feature is also standard on the Activ and RS trims, while base LS trim will not offer the feature.

What’s more, 2022 Chevy Trailblazer models equipped with the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine and FWD are rated at 29 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 30 mpg combined, representing a 1-mpg increase for both the city rating and combined rating when compared to similarly equipped 2021-model-year vehicles.

The latest 2022 model year also deletes four exterior paint options, namely Midnight Blue Metallic, Dark Copper Metallic, Scarlet Red Metallic, and Pacific Blue Metallic. All four colors will be replaced with new paint options.

It’s also worth noting that the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer drops the L trim level, leaving the LS trim as the least-expensive model in the crossover’s lineup.

Pricing for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer starts at $22,795.
