2022 Chevy Trailblazer To Get Optional Heated Steering Wheel

A heated steering wheel has been added to the list of available options for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer subcompact crossover.

A heated steering wheel was among the three options that were offered on the 2021 model year Chevy Trailblazer in South Korea but not in North America. That will change for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, though, as customers will be able to equip the vehicle with one via either the Premium Seating Package (PCL) or Adaptive Cruise Control Package (PGY) on the LT trim level. A heated steering wheel will also come standard on the Activ and RS trim levels. The base L and the budget-minded LS trim levels will not be available with a heated steering wheel.

In addition to the heated steering wheel, the Korean-spec Chevy Trailblazer can also be equipped with ventilated front seats and a head-up display, options that are still not available on the subcompact crossover in the U.S.

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer rides on the GM VSS-F platform and is available with two engines: the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH and the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T. The 1.2L engine is good for 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, while the larger 1.3L mill produces 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard and the GM nine-speed automatic transmission is available as an option.

The Trailblazer is built at the GM Bupyeong Assembly plant in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea and exported to North America for sale. The crossover is also assembled by GM China at the Dong Yue plant in Yantai, Shangdong, China, for sale in the local Chinese market.

Pricing for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer starts at $19,995 in the United States including destination for the entry-level L trim.

  4. Engine is great for mileage and acceleration. TB desperately needs memory settings for 2 people and dual climate controls. PIA when my wife, 5 foot, drives and I try to use it next, 6 foot 2 inch. Also need to have radio controls on the steering wheel. Taking hands off wheel to change stations is difficult because the channel buttons on the monitor are small.

    1. Channel selection button is on the backside of the left side of steering wheel. Volume is on the back on the right of the steering wheel.

  5. How about putting back a leather steering wheel in the costlier Blazer and Acadia. It is ridiculous beyond belief that a 40K Blazer or Acadia has a cheap urethane steering wheel and that you have to move up to 3 trim levels to get one.
