2022 Chevy Trailblazer Will Lose These Four Colors

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer will drop four available exterior colors that were previously offered on the subcompact crossover for the 2021 model year.

As of the 2022MY, Chevy will no longer offer these four colors on the Trailblazer (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Midnight Blue Metallic (RPO G5J)
  • Dark Copper Metallic (RPO G8I)
  • Scarlet Red Metallic (RPO GIL)
  • Pacific Blue Metallic (RPO GUM)

These four colors were only available on certain trim levels of the 2021MY Trailblazer. Pacific Blue was only offered on the LS and LT, while Scarlet Red Metallic was available on the LS, LT and RS. Midnight Blue and Dark Copper were available to order on the LS, LT and Activ. They will be replaced with new hues.

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer will also drop the Performance Package that was previously offered for 2021. The Performance Package is available on the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT trim level with front-wheel drive only and includes the turbocharged 1.3L L3T three-cylinder engine as well as Sport and Snow driving modes, among some other extras. In addition, the MY2022 Trailblazer will also receive an optional heated steering wheel. A heated wheel was already offered on the 2021 Trailblazer in Korea, but American-spec vehicles will offer one as well.

Some other small changes may also be in store for the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer, though we’ll likely have to wait until GM releases official details in the coming weeks or months. The subcompact crossover will continue to be built at the GM Bupyeong plant in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea.

  1. What this car needs to lose is not these colors, but that shameful puny engine. Give us an powerplant with guts.

    1. Have you never driven one? Both engines have plenty punch for this size of vehicle. More than adequate.

      1. No, I have not driven one, but I have driven other small 4 cylinder 1.8 Chevy turbo engines and are not anything special, let alone a feeble 3 cylinder. But if you love your 3 cylinder Trailblazer, all the power to you! This is America and you are free to love whatever you want. I’m not knocking your car. It’s a mere personal opinion and preference for more powerful cars.

        1. No, this is the internet. Which is accessible anywhere in the world. Anyway, I do not own a Trailblazer. All I said was power is adequate. Which is true.
