2021 Cadillac Escalade Arriving At Dealerships Now

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is beginning to arrive at dealerships now, GM Authority can confirm.

Production of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first examples rolled off the assembly like at the GM Arlington plant in Texas in the summer, however these initial vehicles were pre-production models set to be used for demonstration, training, promotional and final testing purposes.

Production of actual customer vehicles recently began at the plant, though, with 2021 Cadillac Escalade examples now arriving at American Cadillac dealerships in increasingly large numbers. The Escalade and extended-wheelbase Escalade ESV are built alongside GM’s other full-size SUV models at the Arlington facility, which include the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL.

Pricing for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade starts at $77,490 for the entry-level Luxury trim, while the more spacious ESV model is priced from $80,490. In addition to the base-level Luxury trim, the full-size SUV is also available in Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, as per the brand’s Y-trim level strategy.

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is a large leap forward from the outgoing, fourth-generation model. The SUV rides on the new GM T1 platform and features independent-rear-suspension with available Magnetic Ride Control with Adaptive Air Ride. The atmospheric GM 6.2L L87 V8 is standard, while the GM 3.0L LM2 turbodiesel inline-six is available as a no-cost option. Both of the engines are paired with a GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Other standout features of the new SUV include a standard 38-inch curved OLED infotainment display and AKG audio system, along with GM’s optional Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.

It should be noted that all 2021 Cadillac Escalade models built so far feature the L87 V8 engine. The diesel engine is a late availability option and is expected to enter production approximately 12 weeks after the start of gasoline model variants, so these vehicles will not arrive at dealerships until early next year.
