The 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison has been hotly anticipated ever since the off-roading pickup truck was officially unveiled back in August 2022. Now, prospective buyers can rejoice, as GM Authority has learned that the Silverado ZR2 Bison is now available to order.
As of December 17th, 2022, 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison orders can now be placed through dealerships. Production is expected to begin early next year.
Built as a collaborative effort with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), the Silverado ZR2 Bison takes the all-terrain capabilities of the Silverado ZR2 and cranks them up to 11. Exterior upgrades include new body components and underbody protection, as well as AEV-stamped steel front and rear bumpers. Furthermore, the ZR2 Bison receives heavy-duty recovery points, integrated step pads, an available winch accessory, steel rocker protection, front and rear e-lockers, and exclusive Gloss Black 18-inch AEV wheels wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. Here’s the full list of features with RPO codes in parentheses:
Off-roading shenanigans rely heavily on the suspension, and the ZR2 Bison is no slouch. Featured as standard are Multimatic 40-millimeter DSSV spool-valve dampers, which are paired with uniquely tuned springs that maximize front and rear suspension travel. Ground clearance stays the same, yet the ZR2 Bison boasts a higher front approach and rear departure angles over the “regular” ZR2.
As for powertrain specifications, the 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison features the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This powerplant is mated directly to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
Under the skin, the ZR2 Bison rides on the same GM T1 platform found underneath the all examples of the Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Ontario, Canada, and at the GM Silao plant in Mexico. Pricing for the Bow Tie’s ultimate off-roader starts at $78,490, including the destination freight charge.

Junk just like everything gm builds
Greg the butthurt 🤡 everyone!
Gee, nearly everybody in the US has almost 80K to spend on a truck to go off roading and bang it all up.My Colorado ZR2 bison 2019 off the show room floor cost me 38K. So can't see the 40K pluse difference.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Besides the outrageous price... Exactly how well does an electric vehicle do sitting for 5+ hours in unexpected winter conditions? With no way to get to a charging station, if you could find one? I have yet to see these vehicles put through extreme cold winter or extreme heat and have results in the forefront.
Well for those who can afford to pay a high price for a truck I think I rather do my research and look what's the best truck out there I think GMC has made a better truck than Chevrolet I've seen so many GMC's I think they are a stronger and much better truck Chevrolet's nice I have a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 custom and I think that's just the basic but I'm looking for somethat could last longer and I think GMC Is the best way to go. I do not trust most dealerships for trucks especially the MSRP most times they sell at that price but if you know someone that can haggle dealerships that I think you can walk away with a good truck but we all have to be smart and not let the dealerships take advantage Rather if it's brand new or use
Will this truck have the 3.0L Diesel option?
I BEEN TRYING TO ORDER ONE DEALER SAYS CAN'T ORDER YET PER G M BUT THEY TOOK DEPOST WHEN CAN I ODER MY NEW TRUCK G M I WANT A ZR2 1500 BISON AEV
