Hennessey H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Goes For A Drive: Video

Thanks to its supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine and available six-speed manual transmission, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a Caddy like no other. While the standard 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque is more than enough to crush any speed limit, some may feel as though the acceleration factor could be even stronger. For those who fall in that camp, Hennessey Performance offers the H1000 package for the CT5-V Blackwing. Today, we’re checking out a video of a Hennessey H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing ripping through the gears.

In a video posted online, we find ourselves behind the wheel of a CT5-V Blackwing. Although this Caddy doesn’t appear to be much different than a standard Blackwing model, the H1000 exterior badge lets passerbys know that this CT5 means business.

As the driver pulls out of the gas station, it’s immediately evident that this CT5-V Blackwing has been modified. Later on, the sheer power of this Caddy is shown, with several highway pulls and closed-course shenanigans. Indeed, the H1000 CT5-V Blackwing is quite the sight to behold.

For background as to how this mind-bending horsepower figure is possible, Hennessey upgrades all sorts of parts, including improved lifters and pushrods, enhanced intake and exhaust valves, ported cylinder heads, long-tube headers, and oversized heat exchangers. Of course, there would be minimal power gain without proper tuning, so Hennessy’s engine management calibration is also included.

Now, here comes the arguably more incredible aspect; this package includes a two-year / 24,000-mile limited warranty. That’s right, a 1,000-horsepower luxury rocket can be had with a warranty. Amazing.

For those who may be interested in such a beast, be sure to contact Hennessey directly for more information.

  • TINY CAR, TIGHT SEATS, NO REAR SEAT ROOM FOR A AVERAGE SIZE PERSON. WOW, IT GOES FAST OFF THE LINE THEN YOU HAVE TO HIT THE BREAKS. CADILLACS AS I ALWAYS THOUGHT , WERE VERY SMOOTH RIDING QUIET VEHICLES. NOW A DAYS ITS SPEED AND NO ROOM. Looks like a Acura anyway., MARY IS FOLLOWING SUIT OF THOSE SMALL MERCEDES. I WILL KEEP MY 76 COUPE, 73 ELDORADO, AND MY 72 FLEETWOOD.

    • I love the cars you say you'll keep (I had two you mention in the family except our Eldorado was a '75), but if Cadillac still only made road pillows they'd be out of business. The demand just isn't there anymore.

  • Absolutely gorgeous color in the article, I think the car in the video is a different color. I like that the video starts off at the gas station because that’s where the car is going to be spending most of its time. 😀

I remember running a blown alcohol rail dragster in the 80s that was 1,000 horsepower, and that was at the top end of engine technology at the time. Just amazing to see that much power coming out of something you can drive on the street. But you do have to ask, what’s the point? Where are you going to drive it?

  • The best looking Cadillacs was made in 2007. These look too rounded and European and do NOT stand out.

  • Yes please! Any nay-sayer who drove this would literally shite their fruit of the looms and never look at an average car the same again.
