The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV go its big debut last year, introducing an all-new, all-electric variant of the popular crossover nameplate. Now, General Motors has released updated pricing and availability details for the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, as GM Authority is highlighting right here.
One of the big headlines of the latest 2024 Chevy Blazer EV update is the deletion of the 1LT trim level. Previously, the 1LT was announced as the entry-level trim, but now, the 1LT is no longer listed as part of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV lineup.
Rather, the trim level lineup is now composed of 2LT, RS, and SS, with multiple drive types offered within the various trims. The 2LT will be available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, the RS will be available in front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and rear-wheel drive, and the SS will be available in all-wheel drive. A Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) version will be available to law enforcement.
For the moment, the least-expensive price announced thus far is for the 2LT AWD, which starts at $56,715 and will be available this fall. As the entry-level trim, the 2LT FWD will be less expensive than the 2LT AWD, but pricing for the 2LT FWD has yet to be announced. Customers who purchase the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV may be eligible for a Clean Vehicle Federal Tax Credit of up to $7,500.
The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV RS will be the first model out the gates, set to launch this summer. The 2LT AWD and RS RWD will follow in the fall, while the SS AWD will launch in the spring of 2024. Dealers will begin receiving orders for the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV RS AWD in August.

Obviously, most people on this link will be stuck in the past. If you want the latest and greatest you pay for it. Getting 200 miles less than ICE you people forget you charge the EV at home while sleeping at night. I give you it better not be your only car as family trips would be a nightmare.
What about people that don't have the capability to charge overnight? Like those living in apartment buildings? It may be the latest, but it is certainly not the greatest. When you can charge an EV in the same time that it takes to fill my 24 gallon gas tank, you will have my attention. Spending 5 minutes a week at the gas station is certainly not an inconvenience compared to spending extended times at chargers after every 200 miles or so (because you don't typically charge past 80%). It would be a totally different argument if EV's were cheaper than ICE cars and they saved you money (electricity rates vs gas prices).
If you are spending $10,000-$20,000 more for a BEV over an ICE vehicle, how many gallons of gas would you have to save in order to break even, taking maintenance out of the equation? It would take almost 2900 gallons of gas to make up $10,000 at $3.50 per gallon (not including all of the interest on $10,000). On a vehicle that gets 25mpg, that equals around 73,000 miles of driving (assuming electricity is free, which it is not). How many people even drive these new cars up to 73,000 miles, especially when many of them will be leases? This just shows that people are not buying these to save money...they are just bullsh***ed into thinking that way.
Don't forget the 7500$.
indeed, the price of this blazer is not in line with the competition. But currently, GM tech is only capable offer this much on these battery car.
In the future, it should be much better range, with advance tech.
I have both an ICE SUV and EV, the EV drives much better than the ICE, instant torque, no engine maintenance, no brake service every 4-5years (because of regen).
The $7500 is a non-refundable tax credit, not a direct payment...big difference. But you are correct...BEV's will be come more efficient, just not now. Everyone is rushing to buy them now despite horrible efficiency, lack of reliable charging infrastructure, and inflated prices. There are advantages like the maintenance, but there are several disadvantages as well like greatly reduced range in less-than-ideal weather conditions and greatly reduced towing range. If my commute was just driving back and forth to work, an EV would probably work. In my wife's case, she travels for work and does not have time to continually stop at charging stations every 200 miles.
Certain cities have streetside chargers for those that street park. Montreal barely has any private parking spots but a large number of streetside chargers with new one being installed every day

No they are not buying EVs to save money. They are buying them to save us all from burning up the planet. That includes you and your family. Maybe not bull****ed just responsible.
GM will only have the EV blazer after 2025. The ICE blazer is getting dropped after 2025 model year.
The Chevy website says the RS will start at $51,995. Now they are asking for $61,790 for the RWD version. That's more than $9,000 more than they said it would cost. OUTRAGOUS! I'll keep my Kia EV6 RWD Wind which gets 310 miles on a charge and it charges much faster on a 350kW DC charger and it cost a lot less.

just lost a boatload of customers! Chevrolet is mainstream, not a Cadillac. I’m pissed but OK at the same time….because I think the color offerings are downright horrible. I will move on to the Optiq. For now, I mostly love my KIA. The range is quite impressive, and it’s
well built.

Is everybody too young here to remember how much calculators were when they were first introduced? EV's are the future so get used to them. They will only get better in quality and pricing. I do wish GM offered more PHEVs as a transition step to full EV. In many cases those are the best option of both worlds.
Hybrids and ICE vehicles utilizing alternative fuels are going to be strong alternatives alongside EV. The simple fact is that if EVs were clearly the future there wouldn't be a need for propping up the technology via subsidies.
I ordered a Equinox EV, 1 and half year ago. I am 36th on the list. I might drop this order. Toyota , a company I dislike, is coming out with batteries that will have a range of 740 miles, by 2025 vehicles ! They will be lighter , smaller and charge faster. So GM wake up!
These Chevys are priced like Cadillacs. A fully loaded Bazer SS AWD will cost nearly as much as my fully loaded Cadillac XT5, Premium Luxury with the Platinum package. Not sure that makes sense !!!!
you are comparing ICE versus EV. You should compare Blazer Ev versus Lyriq, or Hummer.
But yes, it's over price; and not in line with competition.
The SS Blazer will cost more than my '23 Sierra Elevation, for a car that is less capable. And before you say "it will get over 500hp compared to the 355hp in the truck" how many times will you be driving that vehicle to use all 500hp? And you can only go 250-300 miles at a time under ideal conditions. Frank's comparison is totally logical. You are paying more to own a shiny toy than you are actually saving money at the pump, especially when there are more attractive options at the same price point that don't come with range anxiety or spending extended times at a charger (if you can find one in your area or along your route).
I don't think range is part of the buying decision at all.
Not everyone needs a pickup, and some people prefer not to climb into a pickup if they are not 6 foot tall.
I, personally, do not need that range. Because I only road trip 2-3 times a year. And I don't do, 300miles+. That's as much as i will drive for.
So, i will just charge the car, when it goes to 100miles remain in front of my driveway. Never need to go to the gas station again, never.
Both the Blazer EV and the Lyriq look like station wagons with over-designed front ends. Hybrid is the way the industry should have gone. Only one auto manufacturer had the wisdom and the courage to stay the course. It’s not GM. I’ll be switching.
Ford has moved more into hybrid as they got their butts whipped by Tesla . In their 2nd quarter conference call they said they will be making more hybrids across the line . I expect bronco and ranger to get hybrid version next. Toyota and Ford will come out the next auto industry crash at even or little ahead because they are smart enough to realize EV is not end all be all .. unlike GM or Stellantis
Great design inside and out by the GM Team on the Blazer BEV
It lacks a Frunk which sucks but most consumers won't care too much. The DC Fast charging speed needed to be at 250kW in my opinion but whatever. The range is somewhat laughable for a grounds up designed BEV vehicle.
Those are some minor issues which can be upgraded with software and better batteries (except Frunk) but that price is completely insane. GM is basically admitting two things....
One: They have no clue how to scale BEV Production.
Two: These will not sell in high volumes on purpose by GM decision makers.
Just for reference....The Tesla Model Y (Performance) starts at $54,490.
Just think about that. Insane decision by GM.
Would love to know how they justified this price?
Side note......The Nox BEV will not be anywhere near 30K as promised!!!
Wait until the EV Equinox comes out...I would be willing to bet lunch that it will not be under $30,000 like the General previously said, not even close. You will be lucky to find one for under $40,000. Plus, GM will not be making as many of the lower-optioned trims because they don't make money on those...those trims will be sitting in your local car rental lot.
