2024 Cadillac CT4 Not Getting Refresh After All

The Cadillac CT4 first launched for the 2020 model year, and it was originally believed that the luxury sedan would receive a mid-cycle refresh for the upcoming 2024 model year. Now, however, it seems as though this is no longer the case, as GM Authority has learned that the 2024 Cadillac CT4 will in fact not introduce an update.

The Cadillac CT4’s mid-cycle refresh will seemingly happen for either the 2025 model year, or possibly the 2024.5 model year.

Despite the delay, there are still a few interesting tidbits to we have gleaned about the upcoming Cadillac CT4 refresh. Chief among these is the potential for a round of powertrain updates.

As GM Authority exclusively covered in March, the refreshed Cadillac CT4 powertrain updates would likely only be applied to the “regular” CT4 variants, specifically the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels, as opposed to the sportier CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing variants. As a reminder, the “regular” CT4 variants offer the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine as standard, while the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine is offered on Premium Luxury trim levels.

Later that month, GM Authority spy photographers captured a curious-looking Cadillac CT4 prototype wearing an EPA Portable Emissions Measurement System, providing evidence that the refreshed Cadillac CT4 will indeed introduce a few powertrain updates. Further changes will likely include new styling for the front end, including new lighting and changes around the grille, while the cabin will get a full overhaul that will also include new infotainment features.

For those who may be unaware, the Cadillac CT4 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. Although the 2024 Cadillac CT4 won’t introduce the model refresh originally expected, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2024 model year is currently set to kick off this July.

    • Makes sense, but it would also close the gap enough maybe the 2.7T won't be offered outside the CT4-V.

  • they need to do something with the back of this car its like a hump back ,ugly tail lights need to go back to a caddy sliver design ,whole car is to blah ,a refresh should be done or drop the line and come out with a new model and not electric for God sake ,noby wants and electric performance vehicle, and nobody wants a piped in noise that sounds like a hp engine

  • Not sure who would want to buy a dated platform CT4 or CT5 for the next 6 months knowing there will be a refreshed interior coming soon!

Are these delays a result of Cadillac wanting more time to convert them to EV’s?

  • This seems to be the most recent pattern. The XT4's first year was 2019, so it will get the 2024 refresh. The XT6, CT4 and CT5's first year was 2020 so i expect their refresh to come in 2025. Do I agree with their entry level vehicle having the nicest cabin of the 4 vehicles? Not really but GM sometimes makes no sense.

  • With the pending demise of the Camaro, I'm wondering what product they will replace it with at Lansing Grand River Assembly. Though the Cadillac twins sell well in their segments, the plant has capacity to build 5 times that volume.

  • Simply take a look at the country, GM is following suit sadly. In both cases it's time for new leadership to save either.

  • What’s the source for this information so we’ll know it’s accurate. We’ve seen spy photos of the ct4 and ct5 in camouflage.
