The 2022 Chevy Colorado was the eighth and final model year for the pickup’s second generation, ushering in only a few minimal changes compared to the preceding 2021 model year. Notably, some units of the 2022 Chevy Colorado were delivered to customers without certain purchased options equipped. Now, however, those missing features are available for installation.
The features in question include the off-road sport bar, which was tagged with RPO code SBY and was available as an optional extra for all 2022 Chevy Colorado trim levels. Affected options also include the off-road sport bar (RPO code SCU) included as optional for the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 via the ZR2 Dusk Special Edition package (RPO code PDE) and ZR2 Midnight Special Edition Package (RPO code PDF), as well as the off-road lights (RPO code S3X) offered as optional on 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 and ZR2 trims, requiring the off-road sport bar (RPO code SBY). The off-road lights (RPO code S3X) were included in the ZR2 Dusk Special Edition package (RPO code PDE) and the ZR2 Midnight Special Edition Package (RPO code PDF).
To note, the ZR2 Dusk and Midnight Edition packages became unavailable in September of 2022 and remained so for the remainder of the model year, as GM Authority covered previously.
Now, General Motors is issuing a new customer satisfaction program for customers who took delivery of a 2022 Chevy Colorado with any of these missing features. The customer satisfaction program is tagged with CSP number N222382630, and includes free installation of the features mentioned. The missing components were already paid for by the customer at the time of vehicle purchase.
As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Colorado offered three engine options, including the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax engine. The GM 31XX platform provides the underpinnings, while production took place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
