2024 Chevy Trax Cacti Green Color To Become Available This Week

As GM Authority recently reported, the first 2024 Chevy Trax subcompact crossover was delivered on Monday, April 3rd, 2023. The first model year of the second-generation Trax is now on sale in the U.S. after the first batch out of roughly 5,000 units were shipped from South Korea.

The Cacti Green (color code GVR) exterior paint color wasn’t available at the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2024 Chevy Trax. Now, however, GM Authority has exclusively learned when the paint color will become available.

Cacti Green is one of 10 paint colors available for the 2024 Chevy Trax, of which seven are new for the model year. Cacti Green is unavailable on the LS and LT trims, and can be optionally ordered on the 1RS, 2RS, and Activ trim levels at no additional charge. Now, GM Authority has discovered it will be available to order starting on April 13th, 2023.

As a reminder, the full palette of 10 paint hues offered for the 2024 Chevy Trax are as follows (relevant paint codes listed in parenthesis):

  • Blue Glow Metallic (GGK)
  • Cacti Green (GVR)
  • Cayenne Orange Metallic (GFQ)
  • Crimson Metallic (GFM)
  • Fountain Blue (GLN)
  • Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN)
  • Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8)
  • Nitro Yellow Metallic (GCP)
  • Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
  • Summit White (GAZ)

Production of the first generation’s most recent model year, the 2022 Chevy Trax, ended last November. Sales of the first-gen vehicle fell almost 40 percent year over year in calendar year 2022, accounting for just 3 percent of the U.S. subcompact crossover segment. Chevy dealerships are engaged in sell-down of the remaining 2022 Trax units on their lots, with just 1,700 units still in inventory by early March 2023.

The all-new 2024 Chevy Trax introduces significant changes to the crossover’s exterior, interior, technology options, and even dimensions. The updated entry-level crossover is longer, lower, and wider, outfitted with LED headlights and unique stylistic elements for each trim level. The reworked cabin offers 12 percent greater cargo capacity and 3 inches of additional rear legroom. Most trims have available Adaptive Cruise Control along with other modern safety and convenience technology.

For motivation, the 2024 Chevy Trax sports the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at a maximum of 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed automatic transmission sends it all to the front wheels. The GM VSS-F vehicle set provides the underpinnings.

Pricing for the 2024 Chevy Trax starts at $21,495, including the destination freight charge. Production of the 2024 Chevy Trax takes place at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea and will begin at the GM Bupyeong plant as well during the second quarter.

  • When they say "available to order", what does that mean? You can't actually factory-order a Trax, Trailblazer, or Encore GX exactly the way you want it, right? You have to take what is already built, and I've been told the dealers can't even specify what they'd like to have on their lots.

I like the green color in CGI, but in real photos under lights at car shows I am not as sure. I really need to see daylight photographs, because I generally love green painted vehicles.

    • The first 2024 Trax were “port consensus” only meaning the dealer had no choice of trim , options, or colors. But now your dealer can custom order a new 2024 Trax, within allocated constraints.

  • What!!!! No Shock color? That was my favorite color while it was available. No pretending with Shock, you wanted to be noticed. Also, doesn’t these Trax photos remind you of a blend of different Subaru’s?

  • Only one grey? That goes for black and white too. Wow. Seven colours other those three is pretty amazing these dark days of so few choices. Glad to see green, yellow, orange and bronze in this set. One of our granddaughters is going to begin shopping for her first new vehicle and her wants are … get this … a glove box, seat belts, … heated steering wheel, digital speedo, AWD, those little lights in the side mirrors (blind spot warning) and green. I told her the first bunch are easy but the last one could be the problem. No AWD on this one is a strike. Apparently purple or orange might be okay too.
