As GM Authority previously reported, production of the 2022 Chevy Trax ended back in late November 2022. With the next-generation 2024 Chevy Trax now shipping, the 2022 Trax is currently in sell-down mode as dealers make room for the new model.
Sources close to the matter tell GM Authority that as of the beginning of March 2023, there were 1.7K units of the 2022 Trax on the ground at U.S. Chevy dealers, which corresponds to a 19 days supply. For reference, a 60 days supply is considered optimal.
Sales of the Chevy Trax fell from 42,590 units sold during the 2021 calendar year to 26,597 units sold during the 2022 calendar year, representing a drop of almost 40 percent.

This subpar sales performance places the Chevy Trax toward the bottom of the subcompact crossover segment, with just three percent segment share.
As a reminder, the current generation Chevy Trax launched in the U.S. for the 2015 model year. A mid-cycle refresh for the 2017 model year brought about changes to the exterior and interior. The turbocharged 1.4L I4 LUV engine was replaced by the 1.4L I4 LE2 gasoline engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. GM’s 6TXX six-speed automatic transmission did shifting duty. Both FWD and AWD drivetrains were available.
The all-new 2024 Trax represents a ground-up overhaul compared to the first-gen model, featuring a larger size, new exterior styling, interior appointments and technologies. Power is provided by the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, mated to the GM six-speed automatic transmission. Output is routed to the ground exclusively via the front wheels, as all-wheel-drive will not be available.
Under the skin, the 2024 Trax rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set. Production officially kicked off in February 2023

Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’,
though the streams are swollen…
2013 Opel Mokka(Trax,Encore) which I almost purchased 10 years ago had a good run.
If it still has the l4 turbocharge motor then don’t bother buying it if where you live gets below zero and u drive on the highway, I’ve had my turbo replaced three times this winter and I bought mine zero miles brand new in 2020. And now the motor is I’m assuming shot because no one from Chevy dealer will tell me anything about it even though it’s all still warranty.
