Here’s When Refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade Production Will Start

The current fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade was first launched for the 2021 model year, and is currently due for a refresh for the 2024 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade is expected to commence.

GM Authority sources have exclusively shared that the start of regular production (SORP) of the refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade is scheduled for November 2023.

For those who may be unaware, here’s what we know about the 2024 Escalade mid-cycle refresh so far. GM Authority photographers have captured pictures of the upcoming Caddy’s exterior, but they don’t reveal much. General Motors has been wrapping its test-beds in heavy camouflaging, but there are still a few details to glean. The camouflage itself hints that the front and rear fascias are set to receive a substantial revision, while a black mesh grille and new lower intake can be spotted from gaps in the disguise.

Another detail is a new antenna design. Instead of the typical fin-style antenna, a new puck shape will be incorporated. As GM Authority has previously covered, the entire refreshed GM full-size SUV lineup will receive this new design.

2024 Escalade

As a reminder, the current 2023 Cadillac Escalade is available with two engine options, which includes the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the high performance Cadillac Escalade-V ups the ante with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine, which develops 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque.

As for structure, the Escalade rides on the GM T1 platform, while production of kicked off at the GM Arlington plant in Texas on July 18th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live.

  • Would love for the refresh to include more attention spent on the second row experience. The Grand Wagoneer did a great job in that area.

    • Couldn't agree more. I often find myself in the back of these and in Suburbans and the two are almost indistiguishable and equally spartan, and they still shudder over minor bumps (I guess the body on frame build) despite the new IRS. No power adjutments for the seat, you can only control your own window and the material quality is not good. I would rather see a $150k luxury edition than an Escalade V, which does nothing for the paying customers or owners or family riding in back...which is why you're buying it.

  • Drove my daughters new Escalade for 2 weeks while she was on a business trip in Europe. I am not a gm guy but was impressed by how it rode and drove. Really liked the cockpit and front seat materials. It is quiet and comfortable.

  • I’m a owner of a 2021 Premium Luxury Escalade. I simply love my SUV but I do also have a few disappointments also. I still can’t get the intergraded running boards (Which I need as a necessity more then a luxury feature.) Hear it is 17 months later and still no intergraded power running boards for my Escalade. The stationary assist steps are so narrow that I nearly have falls entering and exiting my SUV. . If I would have known that after all this time that power intergraded running boards were this difficult to get I wouldn’t have purchased my 6th Escalade since my first Escalade the 2008 model in 2009. I nearly purchased a 2021 Navigator which was fully loaded with power retractable running boards. but couldn’t turn my back on an Cadillac Escalade.

    • Well it’s me again and still no intergraded running boards for me to install on my 2021 Escalade. No excuse GM!!!!! No excuse!!!!!!!

    • I just got a 2022 4x4 Silverado High country which came with power retractable running boards. They are actually useful especially for my kids. This truck is completely optioned out with large heads up display, digital mirror etc. It has all the Cadi tech/ luxury for about 30k less.

    • I have several friends with new Escalade's and each have power retractable running boards with LED side lighting. I am surprised to hear this. Maybe you should call another Escalade dealer. Even body shops can order them as the result of damage sustained during a crash when needing to replace them.

    • I agree with Bob on the tacky wood grain in the Escalade. Straighten up GM.. Or my next purchase not be another Escalade

  • I hope they make the car sleek again like the more recent models. I hate that it’s 7 inches bigger (I don’t want a suburban!) and the car play is awful. Not sure I’m going to order a 2024 yet, I’m leaning towards other SUV’s.

  • I see the GM three as the top of each line. They are the limos of current production and should be equipped as such. They need about 500-550 HP but the extra is wasted do to weight (look at Escalade V performance). None will ever be handlers. Upgrade the interior materials (leathers, woods, real metals, alcantera headliners). Pay special attention to the second and even third row seats and controls. This is were the owners should often sit. Think executive sedan rear seats complete with wide screens folding down from the ceiling and refrigerator/freezers. Plenty of power ports and access to navigation screens. Reclining seats with padded arm rests. The next generation needs to grow a bit to accommodate these upgrades. 3-4 inches in width, 12+ between the wheels base (3 up front, 6-8 in the second row and at least 6 in the third row. Add another 12 inches of luggage behind the third row. Give it enough capacity to carry 8 adults, their luggage and 1000lbs on a weight distributing hitch. Its a tall order but its what is required to make it a big, American three row version of the top Mercedes and BMW SUVs.
