GM just unveiled the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD, revealing new exterior styling, an overhauled interior space, new tech features, and upgrades to the powertrain lineup, as well as the new Silverado HD ZR2.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is once again offered in 2500HD and 3500HD configurations, as well as Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab body styles. Refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500HD models also offer dual-rear-wheel configurations and trailering capacity up to 36,000 pounds, while max tow ratings for the Silverado 2500HD increase from 18,510 to 22,500 pounds.
The trim level lineup includes Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country, while the new Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 will join the lineup later in the model year. Customers can also opt for a wealth of packages and special edition models, including the Z71 Sport Edition, Z71 Chrome Sport Edition, Midnight Special Edition, and Alaskan Snow Plow Special Edition.
Under the hood, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD cradles the 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine as standard, while the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is optional. The diesel engine also boasts an SAE-certified output boost to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet. Both the diesel engine and the gasoline engine connect to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission as standard, which replaces the GM six-speed equipped by gasoline-powered models previously.
As for exterior, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD announces its arrival with a new front fascia, headlights, and grille, with C-shaped LED lighting signatures that draw inspiration from the refreshed Chevy Silverado 1500. Tow hooks are now standard across the range, while customers can choose from six new exterior colors, including Sterling Gray, Dark Ash, Radiant Red, Auburn Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, and Meteorite Metallic. Note that Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Meteorite Metallic both have late availability. New wheel and tire options are also on the table.
Inside, we find an overhauled interior design for LT trims and above. Standout features include an all-new 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment screen and 12.3-inch diagonal configurable driver information center. Tech standouts also include new and enhanced trailering features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer, Enhanced Transparent Trailer, Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, and GCW Alert.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD will make its big public debut at the State Fair of Texas on September 29th. Production kicks off in the first half of the 2023 calendar year at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada. Exact pricing details are expected closer to the start of production.

Super Duty is still the better looking truck. Except Ford squishy seats are terrible and the cheap vinyl wrap they call leather on the steering wheel is 100% intolerable.
This new interior is a winner and beats all others.
Allison for the gas 🤨 don’t they mean the 10l90? Using the Allison 1100 for both would be expensive and weight down the gas engine with the Allison’s increased case thickness and excessive clutch plates.
It's the Allison 1000 isn't it? Took GM Authority enough time to report on thiz truck, a whole day late. The new super doody is gonna be revealed at 7:30 pm et today. It's supposed to get the 6.8.

Quick Question if anyone knows....When will GM show the GMC Sierra EV
The Sierra EV was supposed to have been introduced this past April, I Googled that truck a couple of months ago and in my opinion, it's already looking quite dated, I can't say that I got excited by what I saw, overall, the Silverado EV looks far more sleeker.

Anyone can differentiate this from the previous trucks, as this one only appears to have a single front end, and not two stacked on top of each other.

This isn't a 1500.
Interior is without question better than the outgoing 2500/3500. Torque ratings are interesting, I would have thought the 1000 mark would have been broke. Adaptive cruise control is a nice add.
Since GMA didn't post the current Duramax 6.6L power figures to compare, so I will.
Horsepower: 445 HP
Torque: 910 lb.-ft.
It is a far cry from the 500+Hp and 1050+Ft-lbs that many were swearing was coming. That's right up there with the LT2 powered Camaro for 2023 B.S. too.
It makes sense to hold back on power, because aren't Silverados 1500 getting a redo in calendar 2025?

The gasser needed more gear since day 1. I hope it still has the 3.73 with the 10 speed and they didn't pull a GM and move to 3.42.
Also those that complain about the mirrors not looking "pretty" enough, you can see why it is good in the bottom interior picture, look at how much of the blind space is eliminated. Function > Aesthetics
