After confirming the arrival of the new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate in the Middle East in early June, General Motors has just officially launched the complete 2022 GMC Sierra lineup in the countries of that region.
The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 arrived in the Middle East with a full lineup, including the all-new Denali Ultimate and AT4X trims. However, the flagship Denali Ultimate variant’s availability will be limited through the fourth quarter of this year.
“For 2022, we are building on the GMC Sierra lineup with the launch of two all-new trims that take premium capability to new heights,” said CMO of GM Africa & Middle East, Sharon Nishi, in a statement. “Sierra remains one of best performing truck models in the Middle East, with discerning customers looking for the blend of technology, on-road comfort, and off-road capability. The 2022 line-up sets the new benchmark in what trucks are capable of,” she added.
The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra lineup in Southwest Asian countries will be offered in seven variants: SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. All come standard with class-leading technology and safety features, such as a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google Built-In features along with a 12.3-inch fully digital driver instrument panel.
Mechanically, the 2022 GMC Sierra for the Middle East will offer similar configurations than those available in North America. The turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B engine with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque is matched to the GM eight-speed automatic transmission in SLE and Elevation trims, while the SLT and AT4 variants get the 5.3L V8 L84 engine with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet. Meanwhile, the AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate are equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87 engine that develops 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both V8 engines are paired with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra lineup is available through the brand’s official dealership network in the Middle East. Although the company only announced the Crew Cab body styles, the highly popular Regular Cab is expected to be available soon as well.
