GM just teased the upcoming 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS, announcing that the new all-electric crossover will get a full reveal on July 18th.
In addition to announcing the debut date for the new Blazer EV, GM also dropped a new photo of the crossover in full, unobscured glory. The image shows the new all-electric Chevy from the front three-quarters view, with the body panels covered in Radiant Red Metallic paint. A few other noteworthy features include a technical frontend design, complete with horizontal lighting bits and an SS badge, as well as the large two-tone wheels. The roofline looks low thanks to a raised shoulder line and black lower trim, with the roof also done in black for a two-tone finish. Of course, GM states that the vehicle shown in this new image is a preproduction vehicle, and that the actual production model will vary.
When it arrives, the Chevy Blazer EV will be the third model to hit the market with GM’s Ultium battery technology and Ultium motor technology, following the GMC Hummer EV off-roader and Cadillac Lyriq EV luxury crossover. Under the skin, the Chevy Blazer SS will ride on the GM BEV3 platform. The Chevy Blazer EV will also be the first all-electric Chevy model to wear the legendary SS badge.
Inside the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is expected to run a large infotainment screen and digital instrument panel, a setup that should resemble the interior layout on offer from the new Chevy Silverado EV. Check out previous GM Authority spy photos of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV interior for more.
When it launches, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is expected to rival the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Prototype versions of the Blazer EV have also been spotted testing on public roads alongside the Volkswagen ID.4

Interesting, I think I like it. Quite different from the current Blazer. I can appreciate that they are developing these vehicles from the ground up as opposed to just shoving batteries in the current ones.
You mention different from the current ICE model . . . this is probably just me here, but offering two different models with same name sounds like a recipe to confuse customers. The same for the new EV Rado and EV Nox. I get the whole move to EV's but why use the same naming convention. Perhaps someone with intel at GM can explain the logic here.
Also, all the EV attention has been on Chevy/Cadillac/Buick - what's happen at GMC. Hopefully a Jimmy EV. And does anyone know about the EV future for the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Escalade - GM"s huge cash cows?
It has too many doors to be an SS.
Chevrolet SS
The SS has had more than 2 doors over the years with different variants of the Chevy Brand.
The styling of the EV's hits the mark and I prefer the sheet metal compared to the gas powered vehicle, same with the Silverado.
What is up with the rear passenger windows?
Nothing is up with them... It has the smaller window on the back of the door so you can roll it down all the way.
Then it goes to the window behind the C pillar.
Poor design. The current Blazer has a blunt but simple look that grows on you. This is a mess.
This looks better than the ICE Blazer.
If you are referring to the rear quarter window...well I thought the same thing. Not sure what is up with the break in it at the top. It completely destroys the flow of of the roofline
agreed
I think it's called a quarter window or quarter glass - something from the past. It messes up the flow of the vehicle.
Ugly. U…G…L….Y. You ain’t got not no alibi. Ugly.
Looks good.
I think I like the Equinox EV just a bit more, but I like.
Uh, not for me. And I thought the Mach-E was ugly...
The Mach-E is ugly, why can't we get this Blazer with an ICE in it.
Because this is GM we are talking about...they take interesting concept designs and put them through a "make boring" filter and then put the least desirable powertrain in them before sending to the public.
You can get an ICE Blazer.
This Blazer is on the GM EV platform because it is a full EV not sone converted hack job.
Look much better than anything Tesla is offering.
Yep. I agree. This is very disappointing.
Looks super cheap.
WOW! That looks Great! I think I have found my next new car. Assuming that photo actually makes it to Production
Well well, not bad at all. Thought it would be much plainer looking. Then again this is a SS Blazer which is of course more sporty looking, and should come with higher performance. Want to see the LT and RS versions.
I'm assuming that this is a split off the Lyriq. Curious of the dimensions and of course pricing. IMO GM is much further along in their efforts to exploit the EV style of vehicle. No they are not first to market but they are also not bringing a converted platform to rush things. And the Ultium cells are going to be more of an advantage that some people recognize at this time.
No problem with EVs, but that’s not what I would call an SS. I Have A 2006 Trailblazer SS. It’s still a head turner and lots of fun 👍🏽
Your trailblazer SS was brought to market by management that bankrupted the company. It was a lame attempt to attach the SS moniker to anything they could.
In base form, the Blazer EV is going to outperform your Trailblazer SS in every metric. You’re going to be blown away.
Have you ever read the history of the SS trailblazer and how it came about? Im sure it will be faster, That’s been seen with all the sporty EVs including the 10000 lb Hummer EV. What’s the point? I never mentioned the performance just my opinion on looks and sound and fun to drive.
It has too many doors.
Yeah, Family SUVs should be 2 doors. SMH
Yeah because crossover buyers are all worried about 0-60 times. I seriously doubt most any crossover shopper today cares about 0-60 times and are more than happy with the performance and price paid for the current crop on offer.
The regular LT and RS versions will be for the normal crossover shoppers. This will be for those that really care about and want the best performance they can get (and can afford it)....of course there will be some wealthy wives that just want it cause it's the most expensive one lol, but will they really buy Chevy?
A body on frame rear wheel drive with an LS2 was a lame attempt to attach the SS moniker? Do you know wtf a SS is?
