The current fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade first hit the road for the 2021 model year, introducing a full overhaul for the exterior, interior, tech features, and more. Now, however, the iconic luxury SUV is poised to receive a refresh for the 2024 model year that will introduce further styling revisions, including a new shape for the roof fin antenna.
Currently, the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade is equipped with an antenna design that incorporates a fin-like shape, mounted above the driver on the roof. The antenna is used for both the 4G LTE signal, and the onboard satellite radio (SiriusXM) functionality.
Now, however, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade will replace the current roof antenna design with a new antenna that incorporates a “puck” shape, rather than the fin-style antenna used currently. The new puck shape will be more rounded, but will still be placed in the same location above the driver’s seat on the roof.
A prototype of the refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade was recently spotted testing on public roads, showing heavy black camouflage for the front and rear fascias, as well as the revised antenna. It’s likely that the antenna shape will be changed for functional and aesthetic purposes, but we will need to wait until the refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade makes its full debut before GM explains the reasoning behind the reshaped antenna.
To note, the refreshed 2024 Cadillac Escalade won’t be the only SUV to get a new antenna design. Indeed, the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe, 2024 Chevy Suburban, and 2024 GMC Yukon will also get new antennas, as GM Authority covered previously.
As a reminder, the current Cadillac Escalade is available with two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 277 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. Under the skin is the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

Will there be a CT5 refresh?
I’d love to know this as well. Anyone at GMA have info?
I think the 24 escadale will b truly fine Cadillac standard of world
Far from the "standard of the world." Remember, this is still being made by GM...just because the sticker is over $100K doesn't mean that oozes quality. The Escalade hasn't been the luxury leader in SUV's for many years now.
No faster way to kill your credibility than to say something like that. Never seen such obvious bias in a comment.
The Escalade beats the hell out of the Navigator and that fashion over function crap that Fiat Chrysler is pushing on its gullible customers
It's doing a lot better in sales than the Lincoln Navigator, and that particular SUV is not lacking in luxury quality, so that clearly states that Cadillac has done something right with the Escalade, can this SUV impress everyone?, no, but it's status is a lot better off than it has been in the past.
At the current rate GM Escalades are showing up at the dealerships, customers who have ordered a 2022 Escalade from a dealer will probably see their new vehicle by late 2024. And by then then MSRP will have increased 50K. And sadly most dealerships are playing the “market adjustment “ game and marking up these SUV’s $25~ $35K over MSRP. This dealer greed will be the demise of many Cadillac franchise dealerships.
Articles like this are just blah. Slow day in the office?
Make the 2nd row seat movable
Put the spare tire in the vehicle not outside
For a 8 seater Escalade has the largest trunk in its class. Why would you want to move tire inside?
the second row seats are moveable... and what would putting the spare inside accomplish? other than worse access to the spare tire?
The Escalade is a sales success. GM can't keep them in stock even with very few sales incentives. Because of the pandemic, availability is scarce. Instead of doing something about the lackluster XT triplets, GM is already at work on an Escalade Refresh. I just don't get it.
@210golfer idk why they revise cars so fast Lexus and Toyota dont do that which makes them better in my opinion in that regard. But lets be honest most car makers allow the car 4yrs before they do a refresh
I saw a black 2002 sitting in the shade of big tree, they definitely stand alone in the eye candy department... beautiful ride.
Why are they refreshing it, is this company stupid hasnt even been here that long and many arent even being delivered because of the whole chip thing
I just hope they give the Platinum series a saddle colored interior. Right now it’s either very dark or very very light which is fine but please add a saddle color. Thanks for consideration.
