2023 Corvette Z06 In Hypersonic Gray Metallic: Live Photo Gallery

The 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 ups the ante for the C8 with an abundance of go-faster goodies, from the aero, to the engine, and beyond. Now, we’re taking a closer look at this 2023 Corvette Z06 in Hypersonic Gray Metallic paint thanks to the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

The Hypersonic Gray Metallic paint gives the 2023 Corvette Z06 an aggressive, purposeful look, with the hue playing nicely against the black trim bits and aero pieces. Speaking of aero, this particular example is fitted with the Z07 Performance Package, which adds in a variety of extra carbon fiber downforce-adders front to back.

Up front, the optional aero includes a large carbon fiber front splitter and front-corner dive planes, complementing the black central air intake in the nose. The front aero leads the eye rearwards towards a set of split-spoke wheels, which also have a black finish, hiding a set of red brake calipers front and back. The wheel finish is officially dubbed Satin Graphite. Note that these are not the optional carbon fiber wheels, which feature a unique five-spoke pattern.

Continuing back, we see the Y-shaped side intake trim, finished in black, situated around the door and rear haunches, with a black Z06 badge located just below it. The sideview mirrors are two-tone with the body color for the upper portion and black for the stems.

The rear of this 2023 Corvette Z06 is dominated by the large carbon spoiler mounted to the trunk, below which is a set of four rounded exhaust pipes placed centrally in a black bumper treatment. And don’t forget the black Corvette badging situated between the taillights.

For those who may not remember, the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 is equipped as standard with the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, which is rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The engine will spin up to an 8,600-rpm redline, all while creating a rather exotic-sounding exhaust note.

Under the skin, the new Corvette Z06 rides on the GM Y2 platform, while production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  • Yeah, I am still interested. But got my deposits back from 2 dealers. Learned to love my 2021 even more.
I do not think I will ever see a Z in my garage. Won't live long enough.

      • I don't think we'll get any prices until we go through the following headlines:

2023 Corvette Z06 In (fill in the blank*): Live Photo Gallery.

        * Already used:
        Hypersonic Gray Metallic
        Accelerate Yellow
        Artic White

    • I think Eric on the right track, I too will be enjoying my 2021 for some time to come. Just completed the intro course with Ron Fellows; the C-8 is definitely faster than me. More capability to be unlocked by improving my ability. What an eye opening experience!

      • Eric, Jared -

You got that right. Wasn't Spring Mountain a blast. I just went there at the end of March. Sure did enjoy seeing what the car can do without the constraints of street driving. I also agree about the Z06. From the beginning I've been rabid about getting one. I'm on two waiting lists just to place an order - whenever that may come to be. Certainly won't be for a 2023. But I'm having so much fun with my Sebring Orange '21 3LT Z51 that all the delay has really killed my excitement for a Z06. And for what... a screaming engine sound and bragging rights? For sure the engine sound should be awesome - but I may just defer on the Z06 until things settle down. Nothing at all not to like about the one I have.

      • I'm going to Ron Fellows' Performance Driving School (Spring Mountain) in December. I wanted to go sooner, but couldn't. December works better. After class we'll spend at night at the Bellagio so my wife can see the Christmas decorations. Everybody's happy.

Anyhow, I have a question. Do you think it was necessary to buy the extra insurance coverage?

        • The extra coverage buys down the $8k deductable. I didn't purchase it, figuring that it would be good to encourage a little conservatism and $8k wouldn't break me.
Next time? Not sure, might encourage one to break a little later or commit to a little more speed at turn in. Spinning or plowing off into the gravel will end your session anyway; that was on my mind more than the $8k in jeopardy. I was never in fear of my safety, only my dignity. The brake-turn capability of this car is astounding. I never found it's limit.

          • Hi Jared,

Thank you for your insight. I'll remember to stay out of the gravel. Did you see anyone in the gravel?

          • No. We were on the West track. Turn #4's turn-in is rather abrupt and critical for a good run down the back strait between turns #4 & #5. It is also preceded by a quick drop. One student got a little out of sorts but recovered before touching the outfield. Caught his (and the instructor's) attention though.

  • Patiently waiting for our Z06. Our first gm vehicle in 14 years. I am sure it will be exciting to drive.

  • So far, Chevy is still on schedule. They promised the car will be produced this summer. They are still on time and will be until September 21st!

  • You can say what you will or may!, the price I predict will be north of 100K for a 2LZ. Just my thought.

  • That "Y" shaped air inlet is actually the Corvette symbol if you didn't notice! Can't wait to see the actual performance video by the likes of Randy Pobst & Chris Harris respectively, that should be interesting!

  • As previously mentioned, where are the prices?? Well, that's a game GM is going to play with the current market and the fact they are really only producing enough models/product to keep dealers barely supplied. Not about you having a choice IF you were in the market for whatever but YOU taking what they offer. Not a buyers market and ALL products will be at a premium.
We all want the Z06 now that they have teased us with some details but it's going to be scarce as simple economics 101 teaches it's all about supply and demand. No problem here as we all saw the issues with initial C7 Z06 releases and maybe past initial C8 Z06 release the market will change. Either pay a stupid premium to only get what they offer, if you can get it, OR be patient....
