First Real-World Photos Of All-New Wuling Xing Chen

Just one month after the world debut of the all-new Wuling Xing Chen at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, SAIC-GM-Wuling just revealed the first real-world images of the newest member in its portfolio of global vehicles. The new official pictures allow a better appreciation of the exterior appearance of Wuling’s first global crossover, which generated high expectations among the Chinese public and the automotive press.

The all-new Wuling Xing Chen is the second vehicle to be introduced under the popular Chinese GM brand’s new global strategy, which completely renewed its image last year to better position itself in the Chinese market and start its progressive international expansion. The first global model was the Wuling Victory MPV, which debuted the Global Silver logo and a much more refined design language.

From a styling standpoint, the Wuling Xing Chen adopts its own interpretation of the brand’s “wing dynamic aesthetics” design language, created for its new line of models with the silver logo. The compact-sized crossover boasts a fresh, modern look that seeks to differentiate itself from its main rivals in order to captivate younger customers. The Xing Chen will fight for the title of China’s best-selling crossover with the Haval H6 and the Geely Boyue.

Viewed from the front, the new Wuling Xing Chen stands out for its wide grille, with an inner texture highlighting the shape of the logo, and rectangular state-of-the-art headlights that incorporate LED daytime running lights styled like stretched wings, giving the vehicle a unique and highly recognizable appearance. The bumper integrates the fog lamps in a raised position and has straight lines that provide robustness to the design.

The Wuling Xing Chen’s side profile bodywork bares fairly clean and refined lines. The darkened A-, B- and C-pillar treatment is striking, as it provides visual continuity to the glazed area and helps create the current “floating roof” styling trend. Also playing a prominent role is the shark-fin D-pillar that harmoniously integrates the crossover’s side sheetmetal with the sleek rear end.

The all-new Wuling Xing Chen will launch during the second half of the year in China, while the brand defines the final details of its expansion to emerging countries around the world. As a new player in the highly popular C crossover segment, both in the Chinese market and internationally, the Xing Chen is key to raising the relevance and positioning of GM’s best-selling brand in China.

  • I like it. Kind of a mix of the Jeep Compass and a little mix of Kia and Mitsubishi.

  • cool looking from China, it is a finishes look from the front side and especially the rear, most SUV they seem to forget the back and they look like they don't know where to end up with the sides of the rig, now this auto from China is done well the chrome hooks up to both sides, it looks finished.

  • If this excites you, perhaps it's time to consider raising your personal bar just a little bit - and while you're at it, ask yourself what kind of world you envision for your children. If you're blithely standing by watching as US government and industry continue rolling over to PRC world dominion, you have no one to blame but yourself for Cruzes, Impalas and freedom ceding to Xing Chens, Ding Dongs and communism. With so many China fanboys freely outing themselves these days (Cena, you pathetic loser!), it's hard to tell if Americans are collectively as lost as it appears or if every form of media is simply inundated by Chinese propaganda and bots.

    What a hot freakin' mess

      • Watch out, the everlovin' PC China smitten Globalist connoisseurs of graceful fenderwell cutoff literally at the front doorline (yea, she's a real looker my Xing Chen, a classic - garsh I love progress...) are getting offended. Here's to 'em - and to you, my friend...

If only Biden was half the man Xi is. If only we weren't living in Clown World.

    • Present day "Americans" (I use that term loosely) are as sharp as marbles and are extremely ignorant when it comes to how the Commies really operate.
