Columbus, Ohio-based company Racing Sport Concepts is well-known for its aftermarket body kits for exotic European vehicles like the Aston Martin Vantage and Lamborghini Huracán. The company recently branched out into domestic makes, however, introducing a handsome new C8 Corvette aero kit.
Racing Sport Concepts’ C8 Corvette aero kit includes carbon fiber mirror covers, front intake vents, engine intake side vents, engine hatch vents, a high wing spoiler, side skirts and a front splitter. There’s also a carbon fiber low rear spoiler for the car if customers do not want the more pronounced high wing spoiler.
These C8 Corvette aero kit parts are all available separately, allowing the customer to either select only certain parts from the body kit or all of them to create the complete Racing Sports Concepts styling package. Unsurprisingly, these carbon fiber pieces aren’t cheap. All the parts plus the high wing rear spoiler would cost $10,365 before tax to purchase from Racing Sport Concepts, although they do come with a two-year warranty.
We’ve already seen several different C8 Corvette body kits hit the market. Rocket Bunny’s kit is probably the most well-known, but we’ve seen others from Sigala Designs, Competition Carbon and AGMotorsports as well.
Performance upgrades for the C8 Corvette are currently quite limited due to the vehicle’s locked ECU. While it’s not easy to extract more horsepower from the 6.2L LT2 V8 engine at the moment, companies like Racing Sport Concepts are making it possible to enhance the car’s exterior appearance until (or if) tuners manage to unlock the C8 Corvette’s encrypted engine management system. The company says parts like the front splitter and rear spoiler also increase downforce on the vehicle at speed, which can increase grip and steering responsiveness.
