The Cadillac Lyriq is the luxury brand’s upcoming all-electric crossover, recently shown in concept form at a private event back in March. We’ve covered everything there is to know about the new EV, including the name, the exterior design, and leaked images of its cabin. Now, we’re here to report on new details with regard to the Cadillac Lyriq interior.
For starters, the Lyriq will boast loads of rear passenger room – so much so, it could be described as “palatial.” In fact, the Cadillac Lyriq interior could possibly offer even more space for rear-seated passengers than those in front.
The extra rear space will be particularly well-received in the Chinese market, where extended-wheelbase models have proven to be hugely popular. To note, China has recently become Cadillac’s biggest market by sales volume.
The Lyriq will also have large rear doors for easier ingress and egress, something that’s somewhat visible in the Lyriq teaser image shown previously.
We also know that the current Cadillac Lyriq interior concept comes with a 2+2 seating configuration, as identified by attendees at the special media event back in March. That means four individual seats, with two in front and two in back, maxing out with four passengers total, a configuration previously seen with the Cadillac Escala concept as well.
It’s currently unclear if the production-spec Lyriq model will be a four- or five-seater, although it’s possible that it will be a five-seater as standard with the option for a four-seat configuration.
Dotting the Cadillac Lyriq interior will be a multitude of displays, headlined by a mammoth horizontally oriented screen across the dash, which will outsize even the 38-inch screen offered in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade. There will also be a vertically oriented screen in the center console, as we reported previously. The second row will also get its own set of screens, including two for the first-row seat backs, and a third placed between the two rear seats.
The Cadillac Lyriq interior will sport a number of high-end materials, including aluminum, carbon fiber, and wood trim. The cabin will be finished in neutral colors, as revealed in the leaked images, but other colors will be optional. Leather upholstery will pervade throughout, while cloth will be used sparingly.
While the details covered here pertain mainly to the concept model, most will carry over to the production-spec Cadillac Lyriq interior as well. The Lyriq was originally expected to debut in April, but has been since delayed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. That said, it’s possible we’ll see the big sheet pull at the New York International Auto Show, which has since been rescheduled for August.

I expect the Lyriq to have the reclining rear seats , just as the cancelled CT6 had. I have begun to save my money for the down payment.
I would lose the steering wheel if it is like what is shown.
In the Vette it is like this so you can see but here it appears to be more styling. I would be a little reluctant to go away from a known acceptable unit.
Very intrigued to see the new Cadillac EV's soon. Might be what finally saves Cadillac in the Luxury Market.

Reeks of a early 60’s Chrysler.
I seriously doubt the production interior will look like that. Those images are typical for a concept car but they never are fully realized for production. The steering wheel will not materialize. I would expect the actual interior to be similar in its vibe to the new Escalade. It’ll be a step forward from the drab all-black of today’s Cadillacs but still use plenty of GM switchgear and look less futuristic than the concept.
Infrastructure not yet addressing the charging station concept. Batteries have not reached thresholds of acceptable performance compared to carbon fuel vehicles.
I'd say EVs is clearly where Cadillac has positioned their most talented.

It's not so much about talent as much as where money can be spent.
Thank Alex, I assume the same for Celestiq? If so, it sounds like they're possibly playing with phonetic references to "electric" (all ending with the same "-ick" sound).
Oil of oil closed at just over $14.00 a barrel as this equates to under a dollar per gallon of gasoline which means it may be cheaper to tank up a Cadillac Escalade than recharging the battery of a new Cadillac CUV; further, the price of the vehicle is critical to whether it will sell as the Lyriq (Lie-rig) cannot exceed $90K just as the Celestiq is essentially DOA because of it's $200K.
I’ve already been reading about GM putting a hold on future product development and, if I recall correctly, white collar staff foregoing salaries due to COVID-19. It seems likely then that Cellistiq, being a pie-in-the-sky project, gets shelved and probably eventually axed altogether.
GM has had quite a few “flagship” plans for Cadillac in recent history and they’ve all been canned. There was the Zeta plan and the CT8 for instance. This one is even more ambitious than any of those so, given the situation with oil prices, and GM’s reticence to commit to Cadillac, I don’t think we have to worry about how to pronounce Cellistiq.
I expect Lyriq makes it to production as a Audi e-Tron, Mercedes EQC, and Jaguar iPace competitor and if GM is serious about Cadillac going all-electric, they’ll scale that platform up and down but I can’t see an actual flagship electric sedan priced at $200,000 becoming a reality. It’s the kind of thing Mark Ruess would like to have but GM’s moneymen won’t let him have.

Also, the point of switching to EV's isn't for which will be cheaper to Fuel or Charge. It is to have Transportation that will be sustained well into the Future. You do realize Oil will run out at some point in the Future correct?
Wind and Solar will probably be around for a couple hundred Million years or so.
I am NOT an environmentalist person per say but we need all the Oil we can get for other things other than for our Transportation needs. It will run out one day. The more we use on Transportation the quickest it will disappear. Now I am not a person who says everything MUST be EV no matter what but like 95% of the vehicles being sold in like 25 years will be EV's. That will most likely be Niche players like Ferrari and the like keeping some ICE Tech that we would purchase. That is my opinion at least.
I am glad to hear Cadillac will finally go after Tesla. You talk to kids today and they do not care about Mercedes, Audi, and BMW. All of them want a Tesla when they Grow up. Hope the execution is there from GM on these upcoming Cadillac EV's. This could be what puts Cadillac back on the Luxury map and it could become a two Car Company Race between Tesla and Cadillac in the Future for Luxury EV's. It will be just like I have been saying here for years...Apple (Tesla) vs Google (Cadillac) going forward with all the others fighting for what is leftover.
Tesla last QT sales in China jumped 350%. That is an insane number. China needs EV's and Tesla has positioned itself as the Luxury leader over there and hopefully Cadillac will shortly as well.
