The Chevrolet Blazer took up one of the latter spots in the sales ranking amongst two- and three-row mainstream crossovers during the second quarter, as the model still hasn’t launched fully in the U.S. market. A good metric for comparison is the all-new Honda Passport, which launched around the same time as the Blazer and competes directly against it. With 9,726 units sold, Honda Passport sales trailed those of the Blazer by 2,046 units.

The mainstream mid- and full-size crossover segments, comprised of CUVs with a starting price in the vicinity of $30,000, expanded 12 percent to 514,242 units in Q2 2019.
Chevrolet Blazer sales during Q2 2019 reflect a model that’s hasn’t fully launched, as availability is not at full levels, especially in lower-end trims. That said, the new midsize crossover was more readily available in Q2 than it was in Q1, during which point the Blazer delivered 3,023 units. Hence, Q2 sales nearly quadrupled those of Q1.
In a press release reporting first-quarter sales, Chevrolet said that it will begin national advertising for the new Blazer during the second quarter as production ramps up and availability improves.
Moving forward, we believe that Blazer sales will continue to climb as availability improves. That said, it will be interesting to see how the competition will affect its performance, especially as all-new offerings like the new Honda Passport also reach the market in greater quantities. The Blazer recently beat the Passport in a shootout, and then lost to the Japanese vehicle in a different comparison. The Blazer will also face internal competition from its corporate cousin -the 2020 Acadia refresh.
The Chevrolet Blazer is a mid-size crossover utility vehicle (CUV). It is currently Chevrolet's second-biggest CUV, slotting between the compact Chevrolet Equinox and full-size Chevrolet Traverse. The current model was introduced for the 2019 model year and represents the fifth generation of the Blazer nameplate, which dates back to 1969. The model rides on the regular-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform shared most directly with the second-gen GMC Acadia and first-gen Cadillac XT5. The long-wheelbase variant of the same platform is shared with the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, and Cadillac XT6.
The 2019 Blazer flaunts attention-grabbing exterior design, seamlessly integrated customer-focused technologies and superb functionality. Many of the exterior and interior design elements are borrowed from the sixth-generation Camaro.
The 2019 Blazer range consists of four trim levels, including the base L, three mid-tier Blazer trim levels (consisting of three LT trims), the sporty Blazer RS and the range-topping Blazer Premier trim. New technology offered on the 2019 Blazer includes capless fuel fill, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, and a Cargo Management System.Â
Under the hood are two engine options: the base 2.5L I4 LCV and the optional 3.6L V6 LGX. Both motors are mated to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission. Pricing starts at the $29,995.
The Chevrolet Blazer is built at the GM Ramos Plant by GM Mexico.

These look great in person but they're overpriced and lack a serious performance trim and engine option. GM needs to drop in the twin turbo 3.0 V6 for an SS Blazer and price it about where the Blazer currently is priced. Then lower the price of the 3.6 V6 Blazer to a sane level.
Also, stop putting vents down at passenger's knees. Every other automaker has solved the problem of fitting an infotainment display and center vents at the top of the center stack. Even GM had it solved until they forgot it.
Agreed! With the starting price as high as it is, they also need to include equipment such as remote start as standard. It's pathetic that you need to hit at least $39k in MSRP to include it (and add in additional monitoring equipment since it is sold in a package).
Also, the 2.5L shouldn't be a starting engine since it's likely under powered for a vehicle of this weight.
Once supplies build these should do well. Right now most dealers here have only two or three models available and they are loaded RS models.
As for price no one pays sticker. The incentives will put the price right were it needs to be like any other model.

Yes, a boosted motor option (or even a 5.3) should make an decent sport model with US production overflow (Spring-Hill?) should be available.

Same way the aluminum 5.3 fit in the W-cars, it's not a 454 we're talking about....

As a non-SUV person, I like the looks of this. However, as many have stated before, the lack of standard
equipment, and the price is absurd. They make these in Mexico so they can make them cheaper. Where's the benefit of doing this for the consumer?
I'm willing to bet that EVERY beancounter at GM has nasty calluses and blisters on their pointer finger and thumb from pinching those pennies tighter and tighter. I won't comment on the other calluses they have, or, why :)

And when the consumers move on to other makes because GM puts them last on its list of priorities, what are the shareholders going to hold?
Being loyal to only the money, will eventually erode even the most faithful fan base. That doesn’t sound like a long term strategy that will keep the lights on.
If you look at how far Hyundai and Kia have come, you understand their growth has been achieved by offering more for less. I would say that’s working out fairly well for them.

Of course it's selling. Its a CUV with a bit of pizzaz that others lack. With 3 engined choices coming shortly and stop/start defeat sales will only go up. GM just needs to keep prices in check which they seem to have a hard time doing.
