Ushering in the crossover’s third generation with rugged, truck-inspired styling, two-tone roof options, and an assortment of other changes and updates, the 2025 GMC Terrain also adds a significant assortment of new safety features to the model’s technology lineup.
Aiming to keep its occupants safer, the 2025 GMC Terrain gets a number of standard and optional features, including one, the Safety Alert Seat (RPO code HS1), that is now standard after being optional on the 2024 GMC Terrain.

The 2024 Terrain already had a solid list of safety features, but the 2025 model year expands that sharply with the latest protective technology. For instance, the Automatic Emergency Braking standard in 2024 is now augmented by two additional systems, namely Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.
Similarly, the new for the 2025 GMC Terrain Enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning system reduces the chance of highway collisions, while Rear Pedestrian Alert and Reverse Automatic Braking make backing up much safer both for the driver and those near the vehicle.
The Safety Alert Seat that, as previously mentioned, is equipped as standard on the 2025 Terrain rather than being optional as on its predecessor, signals the driver if a collision seems likely by vibrating the seat. Bicyclist detection and various blind spot detection systems activate driver assist in an effort to avoid impacts with pedestrians and bicyclists if one seems imminent.
As a reminder, the 2025 GMC Terrain is exclusively motivated by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. A small boost to fuel economy relative to the 2024 Terrain is expected. AWD and the GM eight-speed automatic transmission will be equipped as standard on the Elevation trim at launch.
The Elevation trim level will be the first to arrive at dealerships in late 2024, while the off-road-orientated AT4 and range-topping Denali trims will be 2026 model-year vehicles arriving in calendar 2025. Production will take place at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico.

Absolutely and I will not buy any vehicle with a four banger…
Any idea of what the Ground Clearance is? Chery does not list it and I have not called them yet.
It is higher than the current gen (2024 model) by a little bit, maybe 2 or 3 inches.
Couldn’t the design team get more creative with the look of the back end? Looks almost exactly like the 2023 Acadia. More boring garbage from GM!
The Terrain is always a copy of the previous Acadia styling. This is what they do every time!
