Flat Out Autos GMC Jimmy Conversion Heading To Auction In PA

Back in March 2024, GM Authority reported that Flat Out Autos‘ #3 GMC Jimmy conversion was posted for sale for a little under $150,000. Now, just a few months later, the same converted GMC Sierra 1500 is headed to auction in Pennsylvania.

Listed on Mecum Auctions, this Jimmy will be crossing the block on Saturday July 27^th. Of course, this particular build has been posted for sale numerous times already, including on Bring a Trailer.

It’s worth noting that this unit was on display at SEMA 2023.

In regard to how this GMC Jimmy came to be, Flat Out Autos begins the conversion with a Sierra Regular Cab pickup truck and shortens the frame, cuts out the back of the cabin to expose it to the bed, and installs a roll bar and bench seat behind the front seats. This particular off-road-oriented SUV build is painted in Porsche Chalk Gray and is underscored by custom Jimmy badging throughout. The bed cap is color-matched to the body, and features tinted glass and an integrated rear hatch with a power lock. Additional bits and bobs include LED headlights, red front recovery hooks, AT4 badging, a receiver hitch, a MultiPro tailgate, and quad exhaust tips.

As for rollers, this Jimmy rides on custom black-finished 22-inch Rotiform wheels wrapped in 285/50R22 Nitto Ridge Grappler rubber. Fox shocks and BDS front upper control arms allow for the lifted look, while four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes deliver all the stopping power.

Moving to the interior, the heated and ventilated front bucket seats are upholstered in a blue leather colorway, a color scheme that continues into the dash, center console, doors, and side panels. Creature comforts include a wireless cell phone charger, air conditioning, cruise control, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. Out back, a power-folding rear bench seat can be found, along with a carpeted cargo area floor.

Under the hood lies the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, which produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque in the Sierra. This output is directed to all four wheels through the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

Interestingly, General Motors actually had plans to revive the GMC Jimmy in response to the Ford Bronco. However, The General ultimately decided to cancel the project.
